If you’re new here, I thought I’d share a little of the story behind my recent move.

Selling a home I’d put so much into wasn’t an easy decision, but sometimes you just know when somewhere isn’t quite right for you.

So, after my little adventure in Suffolk, I’m back in Buckinghamshire, renting a lovely period cottage and taking my time over what comes next.

So for now, I’m enjoying making this place feel like home, continuing to share my love of interiors, country life and style — and, of course, searching for the right house to buy.

I’m looking forward to seeing where this next chapter takes me.

Happy weekend.🤍

One of the things about living in this rented country cottage is having to work with what’s already there. No decorating, no hanging pictures on the walls, and even the log burner has to remain unlit!

But I’ve found that with familiar furniture, carefully placed artwork and pieces I’ve collected over the years, it’s still possible to make somewhere feel very much like home.

And in the meantime, the search for my next house continues.

Happy weekend.🤍

The season I look forward to most.🍂 Country walks, cosy corners, layers coming out of the wardrobe and those first signs of autumn appearing everywhere.

Definitely my favourite time of year.

I know Grove Cottage has become a familiar name to so many of you, so it may take a little while to get used to the change. It will always be a very special part of the story - after all, it’s where this account began.

But after different homes and lots of changes along the way, it feels like the right time for the name to move forward with me.

So grove_cottage_ is now bynaomistuart

Still me, with the same love of interiors, country life and seasonal style… just a name that can move with me into whatever comes next.

Thank you for following and supporting me through all the different chapters over the years, it means a lot. Here’s to the next exciting one!🤎

Looking back at my last cottage, there are so many interior choices I’d happily make all over again.

Now I just need to find the right house, in the right location, to put them in.😃

One month in, and this rented cottage really has started to feel like home.

I’m still searching for a place to buy, although I’m trying not to rush the process. A house I’d hoped to view for a second time sold before I had the chance, but that means it wasn’t the home for me.

I’m enjoying having the time to work out exactly what I want from my next home — wherever that might be.

Happy weekend.🤍

A little look back at Grove Cottage, my first cottage renovation and the home where my interior style really began to take shape.

So many of the things I loved then are still the things I’m drawn to now — a soft neutral palette, natural materials and old pieces mixed with new.

Although I no longer live here, I’d still love to share interiors inspiration from both Grove Cottage and Myrtle Cottage. They were very different homes, but there are so many ideas and details from each that I still love today.

These are just some of my favourite casual autumn outfits that come out every year. Nothing particularly trend-led - just easy-to-wear pieces that work for my country lifestyle.

I think autumn will always be my favourite season to dress for.🍂

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to slow down a little. The softer light, cooler evenings and the first hint that autumn is on its way.🍂
