I painted this piece and wrote these poems a few months back when my heart was defrosting in a heat wave of feelings and now that I’m out of the storm and feeling much more settled and at peace, I look back on my little heart with so much admiration and awe. The depth of how much us silly little humans can feel is truly amazing and I hope we keep remembering that expression is an incredible way to let confusing feelings move through us. And it’s quite fun looking back at times of turmoil from a more grounded place… reminds me to stay humble and to always be ready for the next wave 🌀❤️🌀❤️🌀❤️

This feeling is so fascinating to me and this is what it looks like im my brain. Hearts burning, open, expanding, and leading with love. It’s mind blowing that we can actively choose to create this type of space for ourselves and the people around us. If we step into ourselves without fear, we allow others to feel safe doing so and vice versa!! What a lovely loop. 🌀❤️

I sat beside my in progress painting for 4 hours today (after looking at it for the past 2 months) going in and out of states of reflection and distraction. I realized I was acting like a person walking in circles at the edge of a cliff, talking myself in and out of jumping off into waters that I know are beautiful… just unknown. Why would painting, such a seemingly simple act cause these such a major psychological reaction? It comes so naturally to me, I love how it feels, what it brings me, the messages I get to channel and express. Why is it so terrifying? I think the leap of faith towards our own artistic expression is the scariest of them all because of the magnitude of our own power. It’s like discovering you’re a magician and being scared to use magic at first. Wild that how after 10 yeara of painting and truly feeling confident in my identity as an artist I still get so scared of the simple act.

I did eventually pick up the brush and I landed on adding this cutie ❤️‍🔥 onto my figure’s heart area because I’ve been feeling the flame in everyone’s chest around me lately. A few more laters to go and this piece will be done!! It wants to be out bad!!! I’m thinking some realistic hands, some fun lettering.. let’s see what happens.
