I am officially an Arcana poet!!! I’ve been on cloud nine ever since I learned in May that my debut chapbook would be published by my DREAM publisher. 💜

LOVE ME SOBER is a love story for the readers who break their own hearts. For the ones who can step back and recognize the cycle, but choose to repeat it. Every. Single. Time. For the readers who love with their whole selves, even when it won’t save anyone. Even when it’ll be the thing that destroys you both.

This is not a happy story. (But if you’ve read my poetry, you probably could’ve guessed as much.)

I am so incredibly grateful to Arcana for believing in this book and giving it a home. I truly could not have dreamed up a better publisher for it. 💜

I cannot wait for you all to read it.

Part 2 of this series! I’ve started to love reading poems but I can only read my own work so many times before I get bored of it. And what better way to convince you to read my favorite poets than to show you their work?

So, I obviously have a thing for @arcanapoetrypress, but you can tell why, right? Their poets write like this! (Every Arcana book will be featured in this series eventually lol)

PS I tried really hard with Spanish pronunciation but Spanish is not a language I have background in.

Nix Carlson (she/they) is a queer, polyamorous, and neurodivergent sign language interpreter based in Lexington, KY, with strong ties to Milwaukee, WI. Their work appears or is forthcoming in several publications, including wildscape, Gather, Orange Rose, and Poetry Lighthouse.

Indira Devos (she/they) is an intersex multidisciplinary artist and professional witch from Southwestern Ontario. She is featured in poetry anthologies such as Gather Selected Works, and The Museum of Haunted Hearts, and was a curator, editor, and illustrator for the Dickotomy anthology. Their debut collection, Swelling Dark, is available wherever books are sold.

Cody Draco is a queer poet and winner of the 2025 Chaffin/Kash Prize. His self-published collection, Spirit of the Cowboy, received the Literary Titan Gold Book Award and the Voyages of Verses Book Award. He calls Florida home, for now.

Lauren Rich is a poet and social worker from the Chicagoland area. When she isn't writing, she can be found traveling, exploring the local forests, or having a pint at the pub. taken in Hudson Valley, NY by @bynixec
