Art history was made @penandapint

This is not that unusual for us but it is worth documenting for future generations who will bask in it's wake, carried by the artistic flow.

Let me set the scene, nestled in the heart of @byramscafe are a selection of wonderful abstract paintings.

The theme of the evening is Surrealism, what could be more surreal, more meta, more post-modern-third-wave-deconstructioism than to create a hyper real interpretation of the abstract, what could be more powerful than a sinister canine asking the one question that drives humanity?

Voila! Let me present to you the new art movement, a collective attempt to unlock the very foundation of what makes art, akin to reducing a meat pie to its constituent materials. What is it called? Hyper, abstract, realist, deconstructionism and yes it is h.a.r.d to master and you saw it here first.

What is the pen and a pint portrait prize?

It's your chance to go down in the annals of history, that's what it is!

At 7pm we take 5 mins to sketch a portrait, so far we've done @gwilliamillustrator, Tommy Cooper, a turnip with a henin and this month Salvador Dali.

Never one to make things easy, this month's portrait was done not from a sitter or even a photo but a sketch from our resident artist. It's fair to say that our creative crew improved on the original.

What do you get if you win?

The chance to sign the PPP shroud and forever be known for your brilliance.

Our stops for the next Knitting in Public Yarn Crawl are in!

Join Sian from @kerfuffleartsandcrafts and Crafts and our Kim from Thread Republic and @darnitworkshops for a day of crafting and independent drinking establishments around town!

Starting at @byramscafe in @byramarcadehudds where you can visit @craftypraxisyarnshop for all your yarn needs and have a fantastic coffee, tea and breakfast to kick us off! Then we’ll be off to the The Head of Steam Huddersfield where you can get pints and pies! Then @thesportsmanhud where we’ll have some crisps from the International Crisp festival, then ending at @voxbarhuddersfield / @coffeevolutionhuddersfield Huddersfield again so you have the options of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

Bring your knitting, stitching, crochet, anything else you like!
