This happens when chef Bas van Kranen of Restaurant Flore** invites Choux*, CUE*, Rijks*, Nikotin and restaurant Europa into his kitchen.

Signature dishes, new creations, explosive flavors and incredible pairings. What a night. It was such an honor to be able to experience this unique Flore’s 5th year anniversary dinner. Best spot for coffee and pastries in Amsterdam.

I love this place. The vibe is so relaxed, the pastries out of this world and the coffee amazing. And everything is made fresh in the back of the shop. If you’re looking for a laid back spot in Amsterdam Oud-West to enjoy some coffee and delicious pastry. This is your go to spot.

Steak frites for €16,90? Not long after they opened, this place went viral because of their affordable French classics.

The place was packed and the service was quick and super nice. The food was good compared to the price. Try their famous homemade chocolate mousse. They prepare it at your table and if you want, they will add olive oil and sea salt flakes. It’s so delicious.

New hidden Chinese Bakery with super soft buns in Amsterdam Center!

You know @seapalace , the boat next to Amsterdam Central Station where you can eat delicious dim sum? There’s a new tiny bakery & café hidden inside! You won’t see it when you walk by, but when you go inside and turn right you’ll stumble on a cut bakery where you’ll be able to buy the softest and fluffy Chinese buns. They have cha siu buns with a bolo bao (sweet crumble) crust, daan that (egg tarts also with coco ut), Sea Palace loh poh peng, strawberry Thai basil cream cheese bun, bolobao with custard cream, black pepper bun, chicken sausage bun, shrimp wasabi bun, shiitake cream cheese bun, Sea Palace Fung lei soo, ice tea, milk tea, coffee and matcha drinks and even soft serve. When I was there yesterday, they also had mooncakes. @seapalacecafe is open from Friday to Sunday from noon until sold out.

You can eat in or take the Chinese snacks out to eat outside on a bench near the water or at home.

Taco Lindo just opened a second location in de Pijp!

This new @tacolindo.nl is bigger and also has a new dish that you can’t get at the first location: gringas! Two flour tortillas with melted cheese.

I first spoke with owner Alex when he was still living in Mexico. He had plans to move to Amsterdam and to start making tacos. I was hosting the Amsterdam Taco Festival and he wanted to join the Mexican festival and cook some delicious real Mexican tacos. Due to COVID the festival got cancelled. But Alex did move to Amsterdam and he started as a food stall on the Albert Cuyp market, which was a huge success within minutes. They opened their first taco spot in Amsterdam West and now they’ve opened a second location next to the Albert Cuyp market where it all started. Bigger, more seats, a small terrace and a new dish! The gringas! Two flour tortillas with melted cheese. So good!! But don’t worry, all their usuals are also on the menu. We sat down and it didn’t take long until the place was packed with hungry people enjoying the tacos. The tacos were so juicy and tasty. And I love that they have a special toppings bar with different kind of (pickled) onions and (homemade) hot sauces. Put this place on your must go list if you love good tacos.

Must try Italian restaurant in Amsterdam Oost.

Chef Gigi worked at some of the best fine dining restaurants in Italy and now he has finally opened his first Italian restaurant in Amsterdam Oost named @numero_zero_amst

The chef is originally from Bari in Puglia and is actually schooled as a pastry chef. While working in the best fine dining restaurants in Rome and even a Michelin restaurant high up in the mountains of Veneto, he developed even more profound culinary skills. He was looking for a new culinary adventure and ended up in Amsterdam. First baking the delicious brioche buns for The Beef Chief and now he has finally opened his first own restaurant: a casual spot where you are treated to his delicious culinary creations.

As soon as you walk into the coziness of Restaurant Numero Zero you can feel the Italian hospitality. Everything chef Gigi uses is organic and his sophisticated techniques really showcase his skill. Every dish looks exquisite and the Italian chef loves to play with unexpected combinations. Like pork belly with peanut butter. Yeah you read that right, don’t expect traditional Italian dishes. At Numero Zero you experience what an Italian born and raised chef, with training at Michelin restaurants and a creative mind cooks. Oh and I love how he puts his personal stories into the dishes. For instance, the cream of chocolate fondant with olive oil and fleur de sel served with focaccia is a interpretation of the bread with Nutella that he ate as a kid.

Numero Zero is a must if you love Italian food but are fed up with the same old dishes or if you are just curious to see what a talented Italian chef can do.

The best savory pies I had in a long time and you can get them at this cute little bakery in de Javastraat in Amsterdam Oost.

I was visiting the Indische Buurtfestival on the Javastraat yesterday and stumbled on this booth selling pies with drool worthy fillings like rendang and chicken tikka massala. I had to try. The pies had a crispy crust and the fillings were so addictive. I walked passed their pie shop and I had to go in to buy some pies to take home. The staff was so sweet and they showed me how they make the pies with a special machine they brought in from the UK.

Emily Elliott is half Dutch, half British and grew up with a father with a huge love for food. Now she is bringing her love for savory pies to Amsterdam.

If you’re ever nearby Javastraat, don’t forget to pop by @mpies.ams . You won’t regret it!

Best new Thai food in Amsterdam 🌶️🌶️🌶️🇹🇭

Eat like you’re in the streets of Bangkok! This Thai restaurant on the Vijzelstraat offers authentic Thai flavors and a real Thai vibe. Even Thai people love this place!

The team behind @siambowl_thainoodles is so sweet and really made us feel at home. Also the food came out super quick and it was so delicious. So if you’re in a hurry, this is a good choice!

They use the 90 degrees wok tossing technique on a very high fire to maintain the chewiness of the noodles. Oh and you also get to choose the level of spiciness. Ranging from mild, to spicy to Thai spicy. We chose spicy, but I will try Thai spicy next time.

Trying one of the world’s 101 best burger places that is located in Amsterdam.

@bonburgerbar ranked number 48 in the prestigious list where they taste and rank the #tastiestburgers in the world.

I first tried Bon Burger Bar when they were still operating as a pop up burgerbar. They had a burger event at Bottleshop On the Wibautstraat in Amsterdam Oost. Now they have a burgerbar in Amsterdam Oud-West (Jacob van Lennepkade) and also one in Amsterdam Noord (Chrysantenstraat). I went to the latter one which is the newest and turns into a listening bar in the evenings. The place is huge and is so elegant and has a nice vibe. Inwas doubting between their famous classic smash burger and the dry-aged. I asked one of the sweet girls for advice (btw their service is very good) and she told me that the dry-aged was the burger that got them the number 48 ranking in the list. Say no more I said. I want that one! And it did not disappoint. The bun with black and white sesame was so fluffy and the patty was packed with flavor with bits of nice caramelization on the outside. The melted cheese give that extra savory kick and the delicious sauce just pulled everything together. And let’s not forget about the delicious onions. This was a dream of a burger. Yuki and I shared a huge portion of fries and he had the homemade super tasty chicken nuggets.

I think we have found our new fave burger place. I will go back soon to try all the other burgers.
