Danny is someone who I think is reallyyyy normal

He’s done everything “right”, studied IT, learned to code in middle school because it was kinda advertised as this promised land for job security. He was a decent student, a decent intern, and he still can’t get a job.

He’s dealing with the awkwardness of realizing the guaranteed safe route actually doesn’t feel too guaranteed. However, maybe with a mix of American bootstrapping hope and genuine optimism, he can still see a path to grandeur - whatever that looks like.

But for now, albeit hungry for opportunity, he’s jobless… and just hungry.

While everyone disappeared around him, he seems to only notice that the store cashier is gone, and takes his chance.

Super funny to me that I wrote this character about 1.5 years ago, and he feels even more relevant now. We shot this in my last semester of college in my friends apartment and our favorite corner store off campus @butlerfoodstore 🌟

Danny, the garment, is a long sleeve knit embossed with a lucky 22 and shoulder padding, paired with vintage trousers reworked with a charmed adjustable drawstring.

For this project I started to come up with nicknames for all of my characters, Annabelle is “the Candied Cockroach”. She’s a girl stuck in a sugar-coated, sickly-sweet life who will probably outlive us all. Here are some slices of the deck :P

“The Last 10 People on Earth” is a ten-part series and collection capturing 10 random people at different points in the realization of their isolation. It’s a glimpse at normal people in a weird situation where everything can become dramatic or ironic or romantic.
