Begin Again 💫

Some recent art on digi ✨Taking things slow and creating from a place of curiosity. I’ve been feeling the changes in the air and the quiet beginnings of a new season upon us.

The moon heals me 🌙
10”x10” Acrylic on canvas

The imperfections on her face are from a previous painting I made on this canvas that I eventually decided to cover. I tried sanding it down, but some of it still came through. Now that she's finished, I think it's a beautiful reminder of how the memory of something old can still exist beneath the surface while being transformed into something new and beautiful.

It’s been hard to create lately. When you’re carrying your own weight, finding the space to create can be difficult but it’s important to show up for yourself. Showing up for myself looks different now and I am finding more joy and purpose in organizing events. I am grateful for every opportunity I’ve had this year to share my art, connect with community and exist in spaces that align with my values.

I’ve been reflecting on what it means to create these spaces. Hosting 2 events so far has been rewarding and has taught me a lot. I love bringing people together and amplifying queer Latine voices. Seeing a room fill up and people genuinely connecting reminds me why I started hosting.

As I’ve been attending other events, I’ve noticed how they are advertised as “sapphic” and “social” but are missing opportunities for meaningful interaction. That motivates me to continue creating intentional gatherings where people feel welcomed and seen and leave having made new connections.

I’m looking for more opportunities to host events and collaborate with other creatives!🤞🏼If you know of any venues or artists that are open to collaborating let me know! If you’ve made it this far, thank you 🤍 by @byskyeiris

Reflecting on the moments of June and could not be more grateful for how this vision came to life ✨❤️

Thank you to every artist and vendor for offering their craft and every person who made space to celebrate with us!! It would not have been possible without you. 🫶🏼

Creating spaces that honor our culture while celebrating our queerness is deeply personal to me. I hope I continue creating opportunities that bring people together through community and art. 🇵🇷🩵

A big thank you to @sunsetstoop for generously opening up your space for this celebration!

This was only the beginning, thank you for believing in me! I can’t wait to see you all at the next one 😝❤️‍🔥 by @byskyeiris

Pieces of my sketchbook after a trip to Portugal last month 🧡

Tending to a sweet tender love and watching it bloom as the seasons change. 💐Romanticizing life and noticing the small innocent moments, mourning doves outside singing. A deep yearning for change and new experiences. 🌙 by @byskyeiris

Life Update: I’ve been embracing spring and all that comes with her. 🌸 Growing and learning through the discomfort and becoming more aligned with myself and my truth. I’ve been slowing down, receiving and trusting that what’s meant for me will always find me. I’ve been creating from this same place as well, just letting my mind wander and allowing things to bloom on their own time.🌱Hoping you’re evolving this spring 💗 by @byskyeiris
