Sometimes all you need is a little perspective and to see yourself through the loving lens of your friends.

First born daughter, perfectionist, introvert to the max, I’m in a season of learning to receive. Love — with a period.

For so long I’ve tied my worth to what I do instead of who I am. It’s not an easy thing to unlearn. It bleeds into every facet of life. In service is where I feel valued. And no matter how much I give, it never seems like I’ve given “enough”.

So when the “doing” shifts and dynamics change, worth does too.

And then it’s little moments like a 10:54pm text with a photo. Of me. Just being. A moment my friend @johnnyjames decided was worthy enough to freeze in frame. And he thought that it was beautiful. That I was beautiful. And it was something worth remembering.

The world needs more Johnny’s. It needs more love. It needs more connection. It needs more presence. Because love and living well is really the meaning of it all. How we loved and how we made people feel is all that is left when we become stardust. ‧ ༘˚⊹ taken in Paris, France by @bystephaniemarion

Your references decide your originality. The further you look beyond your own discipline, the more original the outcome. Artistry will inherently evolve from the way you notice, what you choose to surround yourself with, what you consume, who you sit with. There’s no right answer. Just different ones. And that’s the beauty of perspective.

AI may be able to “build” an image. But only vision can make it matter.

There are things — simply put — that only real human hands can create, that a real human heart can feel, that real human eyes can see. The experience of being somewhere. Of noticing something. Of feeling enough about it to want to make someone else feel it, too.

This is craft actualized.

And I think that in an era of artificial intelligence, efficiency and optimization, we are actually searching for and yearning for more connection. More human-ness. More freedom to lean into and appreciate the simple pleasures this life is filled with, and the imperfections in something human hands have made. taken in Paris, France by @bystephaniemarion

In a world filled with constant input and where the buzzwords optimization, balance and wellness are thrown around without much intentional thought on their global impact — it is a wild act of rebellion to choose differently. Think differently. And live authentically as your most embodied self.

I’m not talking about shrinking yourself, your ambition, your thoughts.

Live boldly. But live.

Your life needs your attention.

Your real life.

Not the one that you believe you need to optimize enough in order to be able to enjoy it.

The internet [and other people] can give you thousands of opinions. But nothing and no one can tell you how it feels to be yourself.

I’m learning how much peace comes from being honest with myself about what I actually want. And then letting my choices reflect that. Even when they need no explanation to me and apparently several to everyone else.

And I think the most beautiful thing is that only you get to choose. taken in Paris, France by @bystephaniemarion

It’s fascinating to me how easily we pass judgment on lives we only see pieces of. How someone spends their days. What they value. What they choose to pursue.

“You’re just living the dream.” I know those words can be said with love. But I’ve also heard them with an undertone that used to make me feel like I needed to explain myself. To prove how much my work existed alongside the life I choose to live and share on purpose.

But I’ve learned to let my life feel good — to keep noticing — without needing everyone to understand it. Because the way I live, and the way I notice the world, are inseparable from the way I create.

I believe our uniqueness is one of the most beautiful things about us. We can stand in the same place, but see and be moved by entirely different details. Each of us bringing our own memories, experiences and feelings to what we see.

For me, inspiration is rarely confined to the hours I’ve set aside to work. It’s in architecture, fashion, textiles, the world around me.

And as artists, we collect these little fragments. Some become something immediately. Others stay tucked away until a project brings them back to us.

A color becomes a design palette. A feeling becomes an atmosphere. Something we noticed in passing becomes the beginning of an entire world we get to create for someone else. And there is something deeply human about that process. Letting your heart be moved, and allowing what you felt to find its way into what you make.

Just like this one for me — a passing moment that stayed with me long enough to become something else. So I’ll keep making room for the things that move me. Following my curiosity. Living in a way that feels honest.

Because it all finds its way into the work. My work. The work that rarely is separated from the way I notice the world around me.

I hope you choose to notice too, and appreciate the world and the people around you just as they are.

I learned how to push long before I learned how to pause.

Firstborn daughter. Straight-A student. Perfectionist. Gymnast, powerlifter — lifelong athlete. Building and scaling a successful business. Being a good daughter, sister, friend. I knew how to drive, produce, perform, and power through. High performance was familiar territory.

But somewhere in all that output, it became difficult to hear myself. To separate what I actually wanted from the noise around me.

I’ve been choosing to give myself space to practice something different.

Movement that brings me into my body. Stillness long enough to hear my own thoughts. Running because it feels good. Paris makes me want to run. And I’m still flabbergasted that when I stop pushing and focus on breathing and being present, I can somehow move my feet for five miles. I finally understand “runner’s high.” 😂

Yoga, Pilates and letting a moment belong to me without asking what I can accomplish in it. Thank you @dreamsevenparis for creating a space for this. More on @demarcusallen later.

I’ve been practicing feminine embodiment — softness, intuition, receiving — alongside the powerful, competitive part of me that loves to build and gets a real high from making dreams happen. The duality of yin and yang.

I notice more. I dream more vividly. My creativity has room to expand. My intuition is louder than it’s ever been. And I trust it.

Even my work feels clearer. My productivity is more intentional and focused. I create with more clarity and spend less energy forcing what needs space. I am an artist after all, and art needs room to breathe.

I’m learning to live with fire and water. To let wild ambition and slow living belong to the same life. My life. The one I am choosing on purpose.

I want to create extraordinary things, build boldly and see what I’m capable of. I also want to be fully present in my life and for it to feel as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.

That’s the practice: letting ambition move through me without letting it consume me. Making space to breathe, listen and actually LIVE the life I’ve worked so hard to create.

Plot twist: YOU can take care of you, and take care of business too. taken in Paris, France by @bystephaniemarion

Grateful to live in a world where every single person is so incredibly unique. With their own skills, their own thoughts, their own way of seeing the world in front of them, their own path. I am so thankful that I have chosen this one — a life between two worlds. It may be different from what is expected or traditional or normal. It’s not easy. Life rarely ever is. And some days I question everything. But on all the days that aren’t ‘some’, and even on the days that are, my soul is on fire for this journey I am privileged to call mine. That is the beauty of it all — the freedom to choose. To live. To fall in love with all of its messy, beautiful imperfection.

Paris is not for everyone, but it’s for me. It’s more than just Paris. It is a way of living, seeing, loving. I have sacrificed time, love, resources and more. But it has given me everything and more than I have words for. I took my life back. taken in Paris, France by @bystephaniemarion

Highly caffeinated. Always.

Coffee is my love language — maybe even more so than words of affirmation. Maybe.

Today’s office on the Champs-Élysées. Beneath the glass roof of Le Jardin RH. Working and creating is always more inspired when surrounded by beauty and perfect light.

AI could never.

Standing inside Bourdelle’s and Valadon’s preserved studios, I think about why we leave artists’ spaces intact long after they are gone.

The paint tubes. The palette. The worn floorboards. The unfinished forms. The process. The light falling exactly where a working hand once needed it.

We don’t preserve these spaces only because of what was made inside them. We preserve them because a human life passed through them. We want to feel the person behind the work. The processes that shaped the finished work. We want to — need to — remember.

AI can imitate a style. It can arrange beautiful words and generate something pleasing in seconds. But it has no life to draw from. It can replicate the evidence of a hand but it cannot and will not ever have one.

I don’t believe the danger is simply that AI will replace artists because it truly cannot. I think the greater danger is that we will slowly allow it to replace the part of us from that art comes from — by asking it to think for us, write for us, create for us, until we can no longer recognize our own voice.

And we were already drifting.

We move through life glued to our phones, thinking about the content before we have fully lived the moment. We measure the meaning of a day by what it produces in squares. We let algorithms tell us what to notice, what to want, and even how to sound.

Everything becomes ‘beautiful’ in the same way. Everything begins to look the same, sound the same, and feel less.

I’m not interested in rejecting the tool. I’m interested in refusing to outsource the self.

This space is my attempt to move in the other direction. To return to looking, reading, wandering, making. To be fiercely faithful to the voice shaped by the world I have actually lived — not the one most likely to perform. On purpose.

Because the art of noticing is a wild act of rebellion. It is the path back to ourselves — and to the kind of work that carries texture, substance, and meaning. Work that stands out not because it was optimized to, but because it could only have come from one person.

Assistance cannot be allowed to become authorship.

Less algorithm. More art.

Coucou.

And welcome to my corner of the internet.

I’m Stephanie — artist, founder, traveller, hopeless romantic and endlessly curious observer of the world.

For years, my work and visual diary lived together in one place. And as this chapter of my life evolves, I wanted to create space for the person and the life behind the work — and for a more honest conversation about how we create, see the world, live and care for ourselves along the way.

Like many founders and artists, I know what it feels like to give so much to what you are building that you slowly lose touch with yourself. To let the thing you love take complete hold of you — to live and breathe the work until you can no longer tell where it ends and you begin.

This space is part of my exploration of another way.

A life where wellness isn’t another standard to perfect, but a way of returning to ourselves, integrated into how we live. Where artistry isn’t limited to what we produce, but a way of seeing and falling endlessly in love with the world around us. Where beauty and truth, discipline and softness, wild ambition and slow living are allowed to coexist.

This will be a place for adventure and the beauty of the wider world. For creativity, entrepreneurship and artistry as a way of life. For conversations about mind, body and spiritual well-being, personal rituals, self-love and the continual process of becoming more fully ourselves.

Some in colour.
Some in black and white.
All seen through my eyes.

My life doesn’t need to look like yours — and yours doesn’t need to look like mine. That is the beauty of it.

I hope this becomes a place that encourages you to love yourself more deeply, see your world more romantically and live your one extraordinary life more authentically and boldly.

Not perfectly.
Not performatively.
Just as ourselves.

And with a bit of magic.

With love,
Stephanie
