Q: What do Las Vegas, rural Idaho, and gas stations in general have in common?
A: They are the stomping grounds of the BYU Department of Art!

For this year’s Summer Intensive program, professors Madeline Rupard (@madelinerupard) and Christopher Lynn (@thechristopherlynn) have taken students on a guided art tour across the American Western landscape to investigate the mundane beauty of gas stations and their culture while creating artworks. To honor their subject, the class (with extensive guidance and aid from longtime friend of the program Eric Edvalson @sondo_nation) has constructed their own gallery space to host a special one-week exhibition at Will’s Canyon Stop gas station, running all next week!

You can catch the opening reception of PROJECT REST STOP (@projectreststop) this coming Monday, August 3 at 6PM — be sure to catch it before it goes down, and grab a Diet Coke and a donut while you’re at it! by @byuart_commons
