How did BYU Marriott students transform the world this summer?

For some MBA students, their impact went across the world to Ghana, where they teamed up with Ghanaian BYU–Pathway Worldwide students. They hosted a series of workshops designed to help young adults in Ghana develop career skills to set them apart in a competitive labor market.

“We try to help everyone that we receive. It has really been joyful to be part of this program and to help in my own country.” Emmanuel Obbah (MBA student and Ghanaian native) by @byumbaprogram

BYU Marriott Beacons of Light 150: What does it mean to bring your whole self to work?

It's a question business leaders around the world wrestle with, and @byumbaprogram Faith and Belief at Work Case Competition is meeting that challenge head-on.

MBA programs from across the country gather to tackle real challenges facing current leaders navigating faith and belief in a diverse workplace. The central premise: when organizations genuinely embrace the belief systems of their workforce, the result isn't just a more inclusive culture, it's better business outcomes.

"Businesses want the best version of their employees at work, and for me, that includes my faith." — Katie Edwards, MBA student by @byumbaprogram

Each year, the BYU MBA Program hosts its Winter Retreat at Spring Haven Lodge, bringing together first- and second-year students alongside faculty for a meaningful weekend of connection and reflection. This year, more than 100 attendees heard from keynote speaker Gary Crittenden, former CEO of HGGC Global and former CFO of Citibank, American Express, Monsanto, and Sears.

Following dinner and the keynote, students took part in beloved retreat traditions, including the annual first-year versus second-year Family Feud, dodgeball, and late-night games and sports that carried on until sunrise. In addition to the festivities, students worked together to create quilts made from recycled plastic grocery bags, which will be donated to a local foundation to help keep individuals in need warm. This annual retreat is made possible through the Supply Chain and Operations Track endowment, generously established by the Savage Family. by @byumbaprogram

Meet Luana Tu’ua: MBA 2nd year.

When she’s not deep in case studies, she’s a force for athletics, helping to found both the MBA Women’s Basketball and Flag Football teams. She even organized a private spin ride for women in the program to connect and de-stress. We love to see it!
