Russian Circles Albums Ranked:
I honestly never thought Russian Circles would be releasing new music during this era of my life in 2026. They’ve been one of my favorite bands for over 20 years, and somehow they’ve never put out a bad album. Since they came out with a new album, I figured it was perfect to revisit their entire discography and rank their albums from my personal favorite to my least favorite.

Russian Circles have always created an atmosphere that feels immersive, blending Post-Metal, Post-Rock, Sludge, Doom, and even a touch of Math Rock into something uniquely their own. Their instrumental approach allows the music to speak for itself, and every album feels like a cathartic experience.

Here is my personal ranking of their entire discography. This was not an easy list to put together. These albums are all top-tier and incredibly captivating, so narrowing them down was definitely a challenge. Drop your rankings or favorite Russian Circles albums in the comments. I’d love to see your list! @russiancircles

Album - Year:
-Geneva - 2009
-Enter - 2006
-Nine - 2026
-Empros - 2011
-Blood Year - 2019
-Gnosis - 2022
-Memorial - 2013
-Station - 2008

This is a special post for a band that means a lot to me. I first discovered Svalbard in 2020, during the quarantine days when COVID began. Svalbard have created such a unique and cohesive sound, blending Post-Black Metal, Post-Hardcore, Post-Metal and Blackgaze into something that feels both cathartic and heart wrenching. Their music carries so much emotion, aggression, and atmosphere, with those mind blowing atmospheric tones that always leave you wanting more.

Svalbard will be calling it quits in August 2026, I know I’m going to miss this band and the music they’ve created. More than anything, I am grateful for the 10 plus years of music that will live on forever.

This album right here, ‘The Weight of the Mask’, released in 2023, is by far my favorite album in their discography. It’s an incredible record with no skips and one that will always hold a special place in my collection.

Thank you @svalbard for your music.

Be sure to check them out and give ‘The Weight of the Mask’ a listen.
