Pt. 1 of my mini series of drawings inspired by slogans of revolutionary student posters from May 1968. Anti-capitalist sentiments of the internationale socialiste movement of the late 20th century lives on in the hearts of many. by @c.aris.art

Something a little different 🕺 ✨️

This is a digitally colored sketch inspired by "Party" by Troye Sivan. I couldn't decide between warmer or cooler colors, so I designed with both. by @c.aris.art

This was a fun practice with ink and pencil after a summer of paint. Art is my safe space and always will be, and similarly I've discovered connecting with other queer people is a necessity. The joy of self expression is best experienced when shared :)

Acrylic marker and ink on toned paper

I'm revisiting color after a few black and whites. I was more interested in messing around with texture/oceanic colors than creating a recognizable figure. Are they falling or floating? Drowning or evolving? by @c.aris.art

👁👁👁

Sketching has always helped me focus on conversations and drastically improves my listening ability. It's always been a way for me to self regulate and tune into what I'm processing, but makes me appear distracted or detached.

I have been really into using eye imagery in my art for a while now, and I often subconsciously express my struggles with perception and visual/verbal communication (facial expressions, tone of voice) in my artwork.

This funky sketch is not only an example of using doodling to process information or social interactions, as I drew this during a book club meeting, but also makes me think about how intertwined perception of voice and eyes are when it comes to communication. by @c.aris.art

Acrylic on Canvas
9" x 12"

Practicing pushing the boundaries of anatomy, and partially abstracting forms. I noticed afterward the relationship between soft pastel and "grunge" colors, which I relate to the contrast and overlap of feminine and masculine energies. This was the third painting on this same canvas since I wasn't satisfied with the other 2. by @c.aris.art
