Hit Pardee this morning with my dad. Smoke wasn’t bad first thing but by 10 it started to settle in on the lake. The morning started off slow out on the main lake but when we moved into the river we found lots of fish that wanted to play. The fish are stacked from the mouth up past the red ball we just had to find the right school. All fish were caught 100-120’ OTW, speed was 1.2, best color was orange, and set backs were 10’. I did an experiment today with my Three Sons Tackledodgers, I used every color and size to see if any one worked better than the other. They all caught fish, not one got blanked. Thank you Brian Thomas for the awesome tackle. I also got to break in the new downrigger rods I built for myself. Off the water at 12:15 eating pizza by 2:30.Good talking to Brent Honnoll out on the lake and seeing that killer wrap job on his boat, I like it a lot.

I’m in between builds so I took a little break and started building a set of Kokanee downrigger rods for Me. I went all out and the best of everything on them. Alps aluminum reel seat with some bling. Alps guides with titanium frame and blue zirconium rings. Finally ALPS ForeCast carbon grips. I’m putting epoxy on one today, can’t wait to get these things in the boat and fish them. #Team Rainshadow #C4 Custom Rods #Batson Enterprises#teamrainshadow #alpsforecastcomponents by @c4_custom_rods

Big thank you to Hans Forney for getting me out and putting me on some decent halibut fishing today. We ended the day with 8 butts and 1 Striper in the box. This was the best one of the day for us. All fish were caught on the troll and we had this section of water all to ourselves for the first 3 hours. No live bait was necessary. Now back to the rod building. by @c4_custom_rods

I’ve been building rods since 1989 and this will be the first Raider themed rod I have done. I have to admit, I kind of like the color scheme on a fishing rod.
