No studio, no green screen, just wood, wire, and patience.
This is how a handmade miniature ship gets built, scanned into a depth map, then composited into a world where the ocean disappeared centuries ago.

Full creature production pipeline in Blender - high-poly sculpt, retopology to 60.9K tris, 4K PBR textures, custom IK rig, and 6 loopable animations (walk, run, idle, attack, take off, land), tested in Unreal Engine. Solo project, start to finish.

What Happened to the Sea? | A Post-Apocalyptic Cinematic | Made in Blender Dune Sailors | Original

The water left.
The ocean was taken.
Water is more precious than blood.
Who took the life from these giants?
Will they ever breathe again?

This is Dune Sailors — an original cinematic short set in a world where the oceans dried up and left everything behind. The ships. The lighthouses. The sharks. All of it, stranded in sand.
A lone warrior walks toward a tall ship with black sails — still standing, still proud, in the middle of a desert that used to be the sea. A crow sits where the anchor once hung. Dead trees line the dunes like old sailors who never made it home.
Nobody remembers the last rain. The sign outside a crumbling building still reads "Raining Outside" — a joke, maybe. Or a prayer.
This world didn't end in fire. It ended in silence. In thirst.
Dune Sailors is a story about what outlasts us — the ships, the bones, the question nobody can answer: who took the life from these giants?

🎬 Production Notes
This cinematic was made entirely solo in Blender. Every asset — the ship, the warrior character, the shark, the ruined architecture, the desert environment — was built, lit, and composited by one artist.
The ship in this film is based on a real handmade driftwood model I built and photographed in actual sand dunes. That practical reference was the heart of the whole project — turning something small and physical into something cinematic and world-scale.
