Anything over $700 ADAP cuts back from the $1700. It forces even more disenfranchisement onto impoverished people. Before these systems existed, we would have just supported each other. Wîcihitowin help one another. It's one of the first natural laws of nehiyaw. These systems force us to become isolated and to erase us or erase ourselves. Before colonization differently abled people were at the centre of our society along with children and elders and were honored for the gifts of our perspectives and ways of being in the world. Now we are othered and treated as a burden and problem to be solved. I feel hopeless right now. But I will find hope soon enough.
