Judith Weir's Two Human Hymns (1995) sets the spiritual poetry of George Herbert and Henry King to hymnlike songs with contrasting intricate organ accompaniment. Featured is @c_carmody314 playing a hypnotic love song underneath choral conversation between Love and a guest 💞

🎶
love bade me welcome: yet my soul drew back,
guilty of dust and sin.
but quick-eyed love, observing me grow slack
from my first entrance in,
drew nearer to me, sweetly questioning,
if i lacked anything.

*deep boomy voice* coming this fall…
I’ll be starting my Master’s in Organ Performance at the Peabody Conservatory!!!! 🎹 Additionally I will be working as a graduate assistant in ear training.👂I am beyond excited for the opportunity to further my skills in the studio of Dr. Daniel Aune. When I moved to Baltimore a year ago, I had little concept of pursuing my master’s, but now I couldn’t be happier. 😄Thank you to the current students in the organization department for including me your events and encouraging me to apply!! taken in Peabody Conservatory by @c_carmody314

I’m thrilled to announce my 3rd album, Apokalieder, coming this Friday 10.20.23! Perfect for the next time the news tells you the world’s ending. Or just the next never-ending car ride.

I first wrote “Song for Keen” in about 15 minutes at 2am one evening of late January 2021. Though I first recorded it at the piano, even as I was writing it I knew it was meant for the organ. But there was more to be explored… So over the past two years, I’ve been writing it’s sibling songs:
Care, Sand, Drive, Sun, Lee, Baby, Tea, Sir, Tour, Sale, Color; Omen; Alarm; Apokalypse. Together, these 15 tracks tell a haunting story of end times and the people you go through it with. Exactly what happens in that story is up to you. by @c_carmody314
