It’s about the marathon, but it has never really been about the marathon. I wanted to sit here and write what it’s about, but I think the real beauty is in everyone finding their own meaning.

I feel lucky to be in this moment and so supported and loved by my friends and family along the way. I’ll continue to trust the process and enjoy the magic that comes on the other side of being vulnerable and uncomfortable.

It’s been a long year of battling and grinding through ups and downs, but this weekend was one of my favorites. Raced, cheered and spread love to everyone out there. Grateful to my people who have been showing up for me in ways I never expected and I can’t wait to return the favor because

NYC>>>. There is nothing like this city and community. I don’t know of another time you will ever see NY come together like this. It’s the experience of a lifetime and it’s truly made special by the smallest of encounters and memories throughout. Had the privilege of meeting new friends, celebrating with family and indulging in untethered energy this past weekend. 2023 Marathon season is complete and I won’t dare ask for anything more. 💙 taken in TCS New York City Marathon by @c_los98

Took me a while to wrap my head around this one, but the word that keeps coming to mind is Proud. It’s hard to acknowledge all the growth I’ve experienced with this sport as I am constantly pushing forward. I’m happy to take a moment and let this one settle in. I’m proud of myself for asking for help on this journey, going all in and enjoying the process. Last year I realized I couldn’t reach my max potential without the help of others and I’m glad I decided to be more vulnerable once again and keep asking for more wisdom from a wider support cast. Thank you to those who have put the wind in my sails. The 2023 Chicago Marathon was blissfully painful, fun and chaotic at the same time. It’s what so many of us have grown to love so much. Brooklyn Half.
@fitz.m captured the way I felt about this race perfectly “it wasn’t my best day, but it was nowhere near my worst.” Had an amazing day with special encounters amongst friends and family. My race didn’t go the way I imagined it, but that’s life. I was beyond proud to rep @brooklyntrackclub for the first time and bump into so many teammates during the race. Any day I can go out, get knackered and give it my all will always be a win and put a huge smile on my face. Excited to have another notch on the belt and another step in the right direction. Yesterday was so much fun, and I will be forever grateful to the sport of running for the life lessons I am learning. My “why”will always be “because I can” and “because I get to”. I raced the NYC half last year, but I knew to keep growing I had to push harder and be even more vulnerable. I have widened my support system and have continued to ask questions and seek guidance. I was excited for the milestone yesterday, because unlike last year I was extremely confident that we were really setup for success. The nerves and adrenaline always kick in and it’s one of my favorite things, but I still felt an overwhelming confidence. I am learning it’s ok to set scary goals because getting uncomfortable is inevitable in growth. Thank you to awesome teammates who show up every week, coaches who always have my back, and my friends and family who don’t completely understand why I love this so much, but still continue to truly embrace my irrational endeavors none the less. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! The MARATHON is undefeated!!! Always grateful to get the opportunity to reach a start line. Months of prep, tons of sacrifices and some unforgettable moments out on the course to celebrate all the testing moments you’ve endured. Happy to have run my first international marathon surrounded by amazing friends, family and unbelievable support. It takes an army. I am super thankful to have found a sport that I enjoy so much and to have it connect me with some of the most positive, charismatic and well rounded people I have met so far. Special thank you to all the amazing people in my life who support me chasing goals like this and pushing me to be the best version of myself no matter the endeavor. Onwards and upwards.
