There’s something almost otherworldly about this moment. The lake is so perfectly still that the sky seems to continue beneath the horizon, creating a world suspended somewhere between earth and reflection.
The trees, their first touches of autumn colour, appear to float in the blue — and for a moment, it becomes difficult to tell where the landscape ends and its reflection begins. Everything feels quiet, weightless, almost removed from its usual context.
A moment where the world seems to have paused, and I’m simply floating in it. Gosh , I love this place! After nine years, this place still has the ability to stop me in my tracks, and make me feel incredibly grateful that we get to call it ours.

There are mornings when the world seems to hold its breath. The lake is still, the mist lingers just above the water, and everything feels softer and quieter than usual. A beautiful morning today @champs_de_reves
Walking through this beautifully curated garden, surrounded by incredible plant sculptures and thoughtful design, was such a wonderful experience. Every turn offered something interesting to discover — beautiful plants, unexpected details, and so much inspiration. A fantastic stroll and a lovely place to slow down and take it all in.

One of my favourite parts of spending time at the cottage is watching this magnificent Great Blue Heron.
There is something incredibly calming about the way it stands so perfectly still, patiently waiting before making its move.
Watching a heron reminds me to slow down and appreciate the quiet moments in nature.

The Great Blue Heron is North America’s largest heron, with an impressive wingspan that can reach nearly two metres (over six feet).
Despite its size, it flies with remarkable grace and can remain motionless for long periods before striking with lightning speed to catch fish, frogs, or other small prey.

Every time I see one, I’m reminded how lucky we are to share these wetlands with such an ancient, elegant, and fascinating bird.
Nature truly never ceases to amaze me. 🩶🪶

Raspberry picking is one of my favourite things to do in July and there are plenty of raspberry bushes around the cottage. While Mika couldn’t be less interested, Lilli quickly discovered just how delicious fresh raspberries are. It didn’t take her long to pick them herself. Just a handful for each of us and the rest we’ll leave for the local wildlife. by @c_minak_tobin

Lilli is absolutely loving her time at the cottage! Every time is a new adventure filled with exciting scents, treasures to discover, and all kinds of interesting things to chew on… and then carefully hide for later. 😄

Lake days are quickly becoming a favourite for these two. 🛶🐾
Lilli and Mika loved every minute of their canoe adventure. From watching a fish leap out of the water to taking in all the fascinating smells and sounds along the shoreline. The gentle rocking of the canoe, the peaceful rhythm of the lake. Sometimes the best adventures are the quiet ones. 💙🌿🐟

Lilli’s first swim in the lake wasn’t exactly planned! 😅 I was a little nervous when she started swimming in the wrong direction instead of heading back to shore.

Thankfully, Mika is the best big brother. ❤️ He was right there making sure she was okay and showing her the way.

And apparently the experience didn’t bother her one bit—she went straight back into the water afterward! 🐾💦 I think it’s safe to say that Lilli loves swimming already.

One week ago today, we welcomed Lilli into our family, and she’s doing great! Mika has been amazing with her, and she’s getting along really well with our two cats too. Everything is working out wonderfully! by @c_minak_tobin

Meet the newest member of our family: Lilli! She’s a mini version (at least for now) of our beloved foster dog Loulou, who found her forever home just a month ago. It’s amazing how life comes full circle. Welcome home, little one! ❤️ by @c_minak_tobin
