Today we celebrate the life and legacy of @mrfreddiejackson ! We lost another premier talent that I grew up on.

My crew, “The Unit” & I, got the honor of working with Mr. Jackson back in 2016. He was hilarious in rehearsal and the consummate professional onstage. He is a short clip playing his hit “Rock Me Tonight”.

THIS IS NOT A SORRY FOR MY LOSS POST BY NO MEANS, it is to celebrate the life of this great artist I happened to get to work with.

My brothers @c_note01 , @pastorfunk , @tnavamusic locked in with me as always along with the great Charles Crews on guitar (thanks for the opportunity sir) . Thank you @sunkissedisme for capturing this!📽️📽️

Rest well Mr. Jackson! 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️

🎶 Fri, Oct 9 | TrueSchool Allstars, Zach Santos & Evan Dexter Big Band

The TrueSchool Allstars bring a powerhouse Funk/R&B sound straight from the source — this elite lineup has shared stages and studios with icons like Barry White, Prince, Earth, Wind & Fire, Usher, and Jennifer Lopez. Led by dynamic frontman Tony Boyd, with John Paris driving the groove on drums, soulful vocals from Skyler Jordan, funk sax mastery from Eddie M., captivating guitar work from Serge Dimitrijevic, and rich keys from Carnell Harrell — this is a masterclass in funk from musicians who’ve played with the greats.

Zach Santos brings his romantic, groovy, and cinematic take on Alternative R&B, blending influences like D’Angelo, Daniel Caesar, and Marvin Gaye with a guitar-driven flair inspired by classic rock and blues legends.

Rounding out the night: the Evan Dexter Big Band, a 19-piece ensemble with a bold 5-horn-per-section layout, delivering original music and reimagined favorites that make big band sound fresh and present-day.

Three acts, one groove-heavy night. 🎟️ Grab your tickets at themintla.com or the link in bio! by @c_note01
