My goodbye…

To say I’m not crying while typing this out would be a lie. I have poured years of my time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears into this sport. Some days I loved it, some days I hated it. One of the many things this sport has taught me, is that working towards something surrounded by the people you love is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. Whether we achieve the goal… or don’t, I’m always rich in that I got to spend my time with all of you.

There are good days and bad days with softball, but there was never a moment where I doubted how much I love my team. How much I love my friends. The only thing I can walk away from this sport with is the love that have for every single one of my teammates who got me where I am today. I’m better because I know all of you.

I think what I’m going to grieve the most, is the feeling of being with all of you. Our highs, our lows… there is nothing like it. I’m devastated our time together on the field is over, but I know you’ll all be okay. :)

Thanks to my family, for everything. Thanks to the coaches throughout my career who made me a better player, a better person. Thanks to my teammates, my friends. And thanks to myself, for sticking this through… and allowing that little girl to live her dream.

Goodbye, Softball.
