Survivor Weekend 2026 — “Texas Takedown” 🏆

ROMO CUP CHAMPIONS!!

Competition will bring out the best in you or the worst and this weekend, I got to see the absolute best come out of our Texas State students and coaches.

What a blessing to lead this team as we traveled from Texas to Arizona to compete together. Proud of the way this crew fought, served, competed, and represented Texas State!

Best job I’ve ever had. Thank You, Jesus! 🏆🙏

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”
- Isaiah 6:8

This is not hype. This is not a show. This is the Church with a message on the move.

The first photo was taken just a few days before we moved to Texas. To be honest, this has been one of the hardest years of my life. The weeks before moving and even the months after-were filled with anxiety, sickness, a near-death experience, spiritual battles, and challenges I can’t fully fit into one post.

Why do we suffer? Why can following God’s calling feel so hard?

I don’t have all the answers, but I know this: God is good, and He works all things together for good.

I want to be like Paul, who suffered for the sake of the Gospel with joy and endurance. As Christians, we have the opportunity to show the world what it looks like to suffer well. I want to be a man who suffers well for Jesus.

And yet this year, I’m celebrating what God has done in Texas.

We haven’t even scratched the surface of the nearly 50,000 students at Texas State. But are these students worth the cost? Worth the sacrifice? Worth leaving comfort, family, and familiarity for the sake of the Gospel?

If I could shout the answer, it would be: YES.

Because in the end, the only thing that matters is the Gospel.

“Preach the Gospel. Die. Be forgotten.”

This year at Texas State:

• 4,000+ students attended our midweek gatherings ✝️
• 3,000+ students gathered in our home 🏡
• 144 students surrendered their lives to Jesus 🙏
• 59 backyard baptisms 🌊 taken in Texas by @ca.smitty

9 students baptized this Sunday.
You can see the difference.

These aren’t just photos… they tell the story of lives transformed.

At Texas State University, God is moving in a REAL way.

Death ➡️ Life
Old ➡️ New
Lost ➡️ Found

🔥 The harvest is here.

Death couldn’t hold Him…
The stone couldn’t stop Him…

There’s no body in the tomb—because Jesus didn’t stay there.
He conquered sin. He defeated death. He walked out in victory.

And because He lives… we don’t have to stay bound.

No more chains.
No more shame.
No more going back to the life He set you free from.

The empty grave isn’t just history—
it’s an invitation.

Come alive. Walk in freedom. Live with Jesus.

“He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.” — Matthew 28:6
