Greetings friends. This is a friendly message to art collectors but specifically to the XY expression. Please do me a favor and understand this clearly:

If you reach out to order a commissioned piece, you are ordering a commissioned piece of art.
You are not doing me a favor.
You are not being “nice.”
You are engaging in a professional exchange.Paying a few hundred or a few thousand dollars for artwork entitles you to exactly one thing: the artwork you commissioned.

It does not grant access to my personal life.It does not open the door to flirtation, emotional intimacy, or expectations outside of work.And it certainly does not earn a date, attention, or special treatment.

What’s frustrating is being put in a position where I treat someone like a fan or a client, and they respond as if I’m supposed to act like I owe emotional access, personal attention, or anything beyond the agreed-upon work.

It is inappropriate and disrespectful. When you reach out to commission a piece of art, you are engaging in a professional transaction.

You are not doing me a favor.
You are not being taken advantage of.And you are only interacting w/ me bc you ordered art

I do not “sell directly” to individuals in some private arrangement… this is an art account. If you choose to message me (or call me directly ) and request a commission, please know that is all you will be receiving.

Paying for artwork does not place you in a position of generosity, leverage, or entitlement.It does not mean I owe you emotional access, personal attention, or anything beyond the agreed-upon work.

What is unacceptable is rewriting the situation after the fact, acting as though purchasing art was a favor, or worse, implying deception or exploitation because personal interest was not returned.

Canceling a commission or demanding a refund because you didn’t receive romantic attention is entitlement and extremely offensive. From now on all XYS must pay for work up front in full.

I value my supporters, collectors, and clients.I take my work seriously.And I expect professional boundaries to be respected.
