Some friendships aren’t measured by how often you see each other, but by how easily you pick up right where you left off.

Paige and I have been friends since college, and even through different seasons of life, we’ve always picked up right where we left off. I know an ocean won’t change that. It just means the godparents and “the godbrothers” will earn a few more airline miles.

We had the best time celebrating Gigi’s 80th birthday this past weekend! Looking around the room, it was evident that she has a gift for bringing people together, making everyone feel welcome, and creating a community wherever she goes. She loves deeply, serves selflessly, and would do absolutely anything for the people she loves.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us and made her party so special. Your presence was the greatest gift.

We may have spent the day traveling, but we still got to celebrate!

A huge thank you to the Caruthers for making sure a birthday cookie cake was waiting for them! Then the birthday request was simple: steaks for dinner. We fired up the grill, and it was a pretty perfect way to celebrate turning 17.
