Laying poly pipe and turning on water to help some late planted millet finish strong. We tilled this field about a month ago, spread 100lbs/ac of urea mixed with a little sulfate, shut the water control structure and turned on the water. After the field was completely flooded, we drained it and had the plane fly on 25lbs/ac of Japanese Millet into the mud. Once we saw a good stand of millet had emerged, we sprayed it with Besiege to proactively fight any potential army worms. It’s been incredibly dry in Arkansas so we turned the water on a few days ago to help the millet finish strong. The result should be an excellent stand in the next 20-30 days.

Reworking old levees the right way.
Pushing in years of buildup with iron, then coming back with dirt pans to redesign the unit and rebuild levees tighter, stronger, and to hold water when it matters most.

Dirt pans do an excellent job of compacting levees. That density can be the difference between a levee that seeps and one that locks water in all season.

When managing for waterfowl, water control isn’t optional—it’s everything. Depth, timing, and consistency make or break a farm’s ability to hold ducks throughout the season.

Our firm is excited to introduce you all to our new Executive Broker — Dustin Roddy. Dustin developed an early connection to the land and water that shape eastern Arkansas. His upbringing was rooted in the outdoors, whether he was duck hunting, deer hunting, bowhunting or fishing throughout the Cache River and White River corridors, including Beedeville, Gregory, Cotton Plant, Augusta, Georgetown, and Des Arc.
