Maybe tattoos aren’t permanent in the way we think they are.

I’ve tattooed people for all kinds of reasons. Some pieces are for someone they love. Some mark a certain time in their life. And sometimes, they simply loved the artwork.

Years later, the tattoo might still look almost the same, but the person carrying it has changed.

Our bodies change.
Our relationships change.
Where we are in life changes.
Even the meaning behind the tattoo can change.

We’re constantly becoming different versions of ourselves, and tattoos come along with us.

Maybe permanence was never about staying exactly the same.

Maybe it’s about having something that stays with us while life keeps changing. by @cactatts
