We had a fantastic few weeks at Christmas Island. We had shots at Bonefish, Triggers, GT, and all sorts of other fish like Wrasse, Groupers, Bluefin & Striped Trevally, and more.

We stayed at the Christmas Island Lodge @christmasislandlodge which offered anglers comfy accommodations with A/C and a gorgeous view of the flats.

As 2025 comes to a close, we have a lot to be grateful for.

First off a big thank you from all of us at @caddisflyshop, @oregonflyfishingblog, and @caddis_fly_travel for your support over the past year. We couldn’t be here without all of our customers; whether it was your first time, or 1,000th time shopping with us, we appreciate it all the same.

We like to think of our customers as family, and we hope 2025 has been as good to you as it has been to us. We hope you close the year out however you see fit, and we hope that you have a smooth start to 2026.

In case you missed it ….

Our friend and local Stillwater guru, Adison @soggy.waders, wrote a fantastic article on the blog @oregonflyfishingblog recounting his time on the Arolik River in Alaska this past July.

Adison paints a vivid picture of his multi day float trip where his group chased trout, grayling, char, and many species of Pacific salmon on the fly.

The article is a wealth of information on planning a multi day float in Alaska. This story exists in stark contrast to Adison’s normal contributions to the blog in the form of thorough Stillwater articles.

Bryson @bryger19 just published a fantastic article on @oregonflyfishingblog about his most recent trip he hosted with @caddis_fly_travel to Cayo Paredon Grande, Cuba 🏝️

He hosted the trip of 13 people total down to Cuba and they had a fantastic time. The group was made up of 8 anglers and 5 non-anglers, and there was something for everyone.

Here’s a recap of our last trip to the lush jungle of Brazil…

We chased down the largest peacock bass that the jungle has to offer, and the mighty Rio Marie delivered. A trophy peacock bass is considered 20+ lbs and our group landed several.

After days of crushing peacocks, we shifted our focus to the mighty Arapima. The king of the Amazon basin, this fish can reach well over 100 pounds. 8/0 stout hooks are a must!

Aside from fishing, we encountered a diverse array of wildlife every day. Monkeys, birds, reptiles, amphibians and more, the jungle was teeming with life. The jungle is a breathtaking place and is the experience of a lifetime. We are blessed to have experience it countless times, and we’d love to take you next!

February 2027 we are hosting a trip on Cosmoledo Atoll. This is a premier giant trevally fishery in the Seychelles.

We have frequented the gorgeous Seychelles hosting trip and each trip is an unforgettable experience.

In addition to the mighty GT, we will be fishing for bonefish, indo-permit, triggerfish, milkfish, barracuda, bohar snapper, and whatever other large fish you wish to cast at!
