I may feel unqualified on my own, but God is with me, and in Christ I am fully qualified to do what He calls me to do.
The “Soul Care” series looks at five areas that reveal whether our souls are renewed or neglected. Today’s message tackles the first block: qualification. Many of us wrestle with the inner voice that asks, “Do I have what it takes?” Hurtful words, past mistakes, or rejection can turn that question into a crippling stumbling block. Using building blocks, mirrors, and windows as vivid pictures, Jared shows how God smashes the mirrors of self-focus and hands us windows through which we can see both His work in us and the needs of others.
Drawing from 2 Corinthians 3 he identifies four qualities-humility, dependence, availability, and fruitfulness—that transform feelings of inadequacy into confident service.

Don’t try to deal with it alone. Confess one real struggle to a trusted believer. Don’t edit it into something small or vague. Push your pride aside! Ask them to pray for you, check on you, and walk with you toward healing. God never designed us to walk alone. He is a God who heals, restores, and cares for our soul! Don’t hide your struggles to protect your image or choose isolation over honesty. by @cadehatcher

“But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.”

Little ones does not mean just children. It means younger Christians or new Christians.

Don’t be a Judas. Don’t fake it. Don’t push or lead people the wrong way. But also remember without Judas we don’t have the cross. God always has a plan and we are all a big part of it. by @cadehatcher

Create a daily margin for God. Start small but make it real. Set aside a specific pocket of time, even 15 minutes, to worship, read a portion of Scripture, and pray honestly. Protect that space like it matters, because it does. Remove one thing that crowds God out and replace it with intentional attention to Him. by @cadehatcher

Hold both truth and hope together. Be honest about one area of present damage, but refuse to call it final. Say it to God. This fear is real. This grief is real. This mental exhaustion is real. Then say, but Jesus, You are not finished with me. by @cadehatcher

Name your thoughts without shame. Instead of saying I’m a mess, say, I’m noticing fear. I’m noticing anger. I’m noticing hopeless thoughts. Bring those thoughts before the Lord without hiding and without dramatizing them. Honestly replace self-accusation. by @cadehatcher

Reject the molds that are shaping you away from God. Notice what has been training your mind more than Scripture, more than prayer, more than the presence of God. Is it constant noise, endless comparison, secret bitterness, or a pace that leaves no room to breathe? by @cadehatcher
