Ca’ di Campo was built from the belief that feeling understood changes the entire planning experience.

Before founding Ca’ di Campo, Maria Del Campo spent more than 15 years working across interior design, hospitality, project management, and creative direction in the United States. That experience continues to shape how we approach every celebration: through space, flow, atmosphere, guest experience, and a level of detail that carries through the entire wedding.

Today, as a Mexican-American based in Milan and planning destination weddings throughout Italy, she brings together two perspectives that rarely exist in one place: an understanding of the expectations American couples bring to planning abroad, and the local knowledge, relationships, and cultural fluency that come from living and working in Italy.

Planning a destination wedding is about more than selecting a beautiful venue. It means navigating different communication styles, timelines, customs, and ways of working with confidence, while creating an experience that feels effortless for the couple and their guests.

That perspective allows us to guide our couples with clarity, thoughtful design, and local expertise from the very first conversation.

Planning from abroad brings unique complexities, but also the opportunity to experience Italy in a deeper, more intentional way.

For us, one of the most meaningful parts of planning is guiding couples through the unseen details. Language, cultural nuance, ceremony requirements, guest logistics, transportation, and the rhythm of each place all shape the experience.

There is no real way to understand a region of Italy from a screen.

Spending a few days in Abruzzo with WE DO Lab meant discovering a new territory through its landscapes, food, traditions and, most importantly, its people.

For me, this is an essential part of curating destination weddings in Italy. Every region has its own rhythm and character, and you have to experience it firsthand to understand what it can offer a couple and their guests.

Abruzzo surprised me, and I’m very excited to now have another part of Italy to share beyond the obvious.

One thing that makes La Pescaia more than just a wedding venue? Being able to curate an entire wedding weekend without revealing everything at once.

What makes this property in Tuscany so interesting is the way each celebration can feel different.

With four gardens, a small family chapel, and spaces filled with history, La Pescaia offers the opportunity to design a bespoke wedding experience, from a relaxed welcome dinner around the historic stables to a farewell lunch by the pool the following day.

The resort accommodates up to 44 guests and offers exclusive use of the property, while celebrations can welcome up to 120 guests. With additional accommodations available nearby, it’s possible to bring everyone together while giving each part of the weekend its own atmosphere.

From a planner’s perspective, that’s what makes a venue so special: when the property allows the experience to keep unfolding without ever feeling repetitive.

Do you really need to fly to Italy before booking anything for your wedding?

Short answer: no.

Many of our couples make some of their biggest decisions, venue, vendors and design direction, before their first planning trip to Italy. Planning a destination wedding in Italy from abroad doesn’t mean waiting until you’ve seen everything in person. With video calls, local knowledge and a team in Italy guiding the process from here, much of the planning can already take shape.

A planning trip is still wonderful. It just doesn’t have to be where you start.
