Strasse 26’ confirmed something: Mezger owners are true enthusiasts—and even better people. The cars may be what bring this group together, but it’s the people, the conversations, the drives, and the shared passion that make it memorable. Thrilled to have made so many new friends this week, and I’m already looking forward to staying connected and hopefully doing it all again next year—or sooner.

Today, I’m asking for our global car community and friends to rally behind something deeply personal.

My son Joseph was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last year. Like every parent who has a child with T1D, I want a future where all children no longer have to live with it. Joey’s resilience has been inspiring and while he needs insulin and constant monitoring each day, he approaches each day like a champ.

Last year, our team, Jogging for Joey, raised over $10,000 for Breakthrough T1D. This year, we’re asking for your help to keep pushing toward a cure. Which seems closer than ever, with new therapies, technology, and treatments in the pipeline.

The Gentleman’s GT3 | 991.2 GT3 Touring
—
A huge thank you to @jcrable911 for trusting me with his 991.2 GT3 Touring for the past week. The opportunity to spend time behind the wheel of such a special car isn’t lost on me, and I genuinely appreciate the trust and generosity.

Part of the experience was getting to see how the Touring compares to my 997.2 GT3. Interestingly enough, these were the exact two cars I was cross-shopping when I started my search a year ago.

While my seat time in the Touring was limited, a few initial impressions stood out. The 991.2 is arguably the better all-around street car. It offers the refinement and comfort of a modern 911 when you want it, but with the push of a few buttons, it transforms into a seriously capable, track-ready machine.

The 997.2 GT3, on the other hand, feels like it’s always in track mode. The clutch is incredibly heavy, the driving experience is raw, and it demands your full attention at all times. There’s something special about that level of engagement, even if it isn’t always the most comfortable experience.

Neither approach is necessarily better, just different. Both cars are incredible in their own right, and spending time with the 991 Touring only reinforced how good each generation is.

I’d love to have one of each in the garage someday (maybe take a page out of @collectorfred_ ‘s book). Until then, I’m grateful for the opportunity to experience both.
