"Thou Shalt Not, I shall..."

Second DTIYS challenge submission for #vauxazidtiys

It's such a blast doing Draw This in Your Style again. This time, it's a little bit different from my last attempt. 💥 Autistic Significance 💥
A Warhammer 40K sketch
(basically, color everything with patience)

A team-up of a Blood Angel and three goober Sisters of Battle against swarms of Tyranids and Orks, like a crucible experience in SM2. It’s not easygoing, but it gives me great autistic inspiration for this drawing process before I get down to sketching. I tried some concept sketches, doodles, and three thumbnail ideas, in fact (at part 6). Then I decided, screw it—all in one idea: gathering information and sketching for weeks, and eventually coloring it with colored pencils and tracing it with the thinnest marker I have.

And the result effectively gives the piece an old-school ’80s look. It also gives each Sister her own uniqueness in battle, while the autistic Blood Angel provides a safeguard against the onslaught of terror and war. I think 40K is starting to grow on me. :D

Fundamental Study!
A series of four simple free-draw doodles and drawing exercises inspired by art videos, memes, or practicing simplicity to discover autistic interests —from the earliest sketches to the most recent ones. I'm starting to see a bit of confidence improvement in my work.

(Well, almost, except for the Doctor Doom, where I messed up a bit on the left eye; I did my best to fix it, but at least I learned it the hard way. To keep going, eventually, you get to the point where you forget, then mess up on your first try, which is part of the learning process. Focus is your friend now.)

Plus, also as a bonus, I wrote Artist notes explaining how I drew it, simply. I shall share how I did it.
________________________________________________________________

1. The first study is quite simple—studying poses, shapes, expressions, and geometric forms. It even includes an old OC concept—I think his name is Kyle 🤔.

2. The second study is pretty fun—practicing line work, art, and hatching. As well as doodles inspired by an art video for practice, I watched and Metal Sonic. Also, is that Fazbear?

3. The third focuses on drawing techniques, shading, and maintaining consistent cute drawings. You can see it in the sketches at the bottom, like Kesane Teto and Divine Mercy Jesus Christ with St. Faustina. Cute, isn't it?

4. In the last part, I just practiced drawing confident strokes and shorthand drawing, which is my favorite because it bridges the gap between complexity and simplicity. Together, you create something both perfect and imperfect—crazy, isn't it? I also drew Doctor Doom and Yautja from 1987's Predator to test my skills, and few doodles of course.

How do I have so much fun with shorthand and fundamental sketches? Maybe I’m just very autistic about it or perhaps I genuinely enjoy it sharing anyone with fun ✨️ 😁 Thanks Bob Ross by @cailber2draw

A simple 40k fanart showing Black Templars fighting a Tyranid swarm. I'm really inspired by this because I just started playing Space Marine 2, which is brutally fun and engaging especially on Absolution... 😁

A few more studies I've worked on include highlighting, referencing, and even experimenting with using a mascara as a brush, which is quite fun. :D

A simple tree sketch for art study, attempted in three ways. The first is a rough reference at 5/5, the second adds less detail, and the third includes more detail using ideas from previous drawings based on the reference picture. Although A bit different but still. It's pretty fun. :D

Jurassic Paleoart Sketch 🦕

Oh, by the way, happy belated New Year! I've been sick for a months and away for a while, now I'm finally better and wanted to share something from my sketchbook before I got ill.

This sketch was inspired by a Jurassic World Apatosaurus toy spot at the library (her name is Mei, by the way). I started with a rough sketch and with inspired to add more details along the way.
Few dinos include are stegosaurus, ceratosaurus, rhamphorhynchus, compsognathus, archaeopteryx, and pterodactly, It was a lot of fun.

Yippee! :D

✨ Usagi

DTIYS challenge for #usagiart2000

I'm participating in my first "Draw This In Your Style" (DTIYS) challenge, Featuring Usagiart's original character, So I decided to try something a bit different from what I normally do. I used colored pencils and pens to bring the colors to life.

But

I might have gone overboard with the background details especially clouds and trees, still new with the whole color theory. Fortunately, I managed to save the last photo, and I have to say, it turned out pretty great. I really enjoyed this little challenge and fun opportunities to try something new. Yay! :D

Ryder Windseeker, a young vigilante sky raider from a small village, had a deep love for nature instilled by his skilled hunter parents. His curiosity led him to find a rare egg among the rocks, which hatched into a magnificent Great Wing drake named Aurantiacus.

The two formed an unbreakable bond, allowing Ryder to explore the skies with incredible speed.

As Ryder took on more dangerous missions, he sought to uncover the secrets of the ancient civilizations above. His reputation as a skilled and respected figure among sky raiders grew, enhanced by his bravery and cunning. Despite his fame, he remained humble, focusing on protecting the creatures of the skies, especially the Wingdrakes.

Through his journeys, Ryder transformed from a curious boy into a wise leader dedicated to conservation, with Aurantiacus by his side, symbolizing their extraordinary connection and the beauty of the skies.

_________________________________________________________________________

Aurantiacus and Ryder are fun to draw, especially with Ryder's mysterious vibe. The Wingdrake was inspired and created from scratch, aiming for a prehistoric look with armor as well. I think it turned out pretty well. :D
