Ian and I explored southern France during Semana Santa (Holy Week) back in 2023. Started in Marseille and made our way to Barcelona. Stopping along the way in Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, was invited to stay with our friend in Venasque and visited nearby towns as well as the famous Pont du Gard. Ate our way through all the bread and cheese and fine French cuisine. Slowly made our way to Carcassonne, a medieval fortress to end our French adventure - we then travelled to Barcelona to reunite with friends before travelling back to the Sahara, errr I mean Sevilla and the heat 🥵 taken in France by @cailinconquerstheworld

Took myself to Athens 🇬🇷 and roamed the ancient city. I was “fortunate” enough to have survived an early heat wave 🥵 🌊 in Spain just before my trip (40°C+ temps all week) so when I landed 🛬 in Athens and it was a “cool” 35°C I had the city all to myself while everyone else huddled in air con hotels. I can’t wait to come back again, this city took my breath away. We had a top floor flat with views of the Acropolis ❤️ Ate my way through every menu and clocked 20,000+ daily steps 🐾. Cuando fuimos a Ronda y Setenil durante la época de covid 😷 Traveling in the time of covid was bizarre. We had a lovely time, our first time being allowed out of Sevilla that year. What weird times! A little glimpse into my 3 month trip to Peru 🇵🇪 where I lived on the beach 🏖️ and taught yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ (@surfari_puntarocas ) and surfed 🏄‍♀️ (@localtubes.peru ) with new friends (too many to tag) , ate delicious Peruvian food (@pimientita9 ) and battled RENIEC for my passport 😊. My brother’s best friend from summer camp was getting married in New York in January 2022 🥶 and I was going to represent my family. I also had just started dating @isharpie45 and so he booked his flight to be my plus one 😊

So we went to New York for a weekend and enjoyed an afternoon layover in Lisbon 🇵🇹 before heading to The Big Apple 🍎. Fun fact, Ian knows New York way better than me so he was my tour guide. We walked miles and miles and ate our little hearts out. I saw new parts of New York and we had a great hotel located in Times Square. It was also during covid hence the face masks 😷.

He also didn’t tell his parents and just sent them a selfie of us in Times Square as a surprise 🤣 We ate bagels, drank hot teas, explored Greenwich village where my friend hooked us up at a delicious 😋 restaurant. We walked The High Line and thankfully the Christmas decorations were still up and got to see The Rockefeller Center and the 🎄 ❤️

The wedding was in Long Island and it was very emotional and just beautiful. We ate so much good food and danced the calories away. Emotional for me as I will never experience my brother’s wedding, so seeing his friends get married warms my heart but also pulls on the heart strings. I’ve known @nealross91 since him and my brother were 6, when they started at @campwk . I was super excited to be able to celebrate his special day. Even in the middle of winter ❄️!

The next day we headed back to the city and frantically had to find a place to get a covid test so we could fly back through Portugal. We found a place by our hotel where we could leave our bags and make it to see Aladdin on Broadway 🎭 and got to enjoy delicious Mexican food before heading to the airport. And as we were heading to the subway 🚇 stop, it started to snow!

We truly had a beautiful New York minute weekend. We ended the trip with sushi at the airport before flying back to Europe, what a whirlwind 4 day trip.

The first part of summer 2022 began with a trip to Madrid with some friends, Sara and I went to a music festival while Ian and his friend explored football stadium and drank beer. We roamed Madrid for 4 days in the hot sun ☀️, cooled off in museums and danced til the wee hours of the morning. Also got to attend Pride 🏳️‍🌈 in Madrid! ❤️

Ian and I then headed up north to Vigo, Galicia (just above Portugal on the Atlantic Ocean) to escape the heat and enjoy the cool sea breezes in this very ancient city. Gallego is 1 of 4 official languages of Spain! We took a boat ride to the “Hawaii” of Spain and hiked around the island 🏝️ and dipped our toes in the freezing cold water. I also “walked” part of the Camino de Santiago so I’m a peregrina (pilgrim) now 🤣

Then we hopped on down to Porto, Portugal 🇵🇹 where we setup camp for 4 days but could have easily stayed a week. Ian’s friends were getting married in Portugal so we stopped off here to experience a new city together. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, the food was delicious, the wine was plentiful - Portugal really fills my heart ❤️

Now we made our final voyage to the village of Coimbra 🇵🇹 where Ian’s friends were getting married. Was a beautiful and very international wedding 💒. Gorgeous day and incredible entertainment, wish I had footage of the saxophone 🎷 player. We danced and danced until I had to take my heels off 🤦🏽‍♀️ then we boarded the bus back to the center to get a couple of hours of sleep before driving back to Sevilla the following day.

Summer 2022 was my first full summer in Europe and it didn’t disappoint!

Going back through old photos to make these reels has been pretty fun, still figuring everything out so I appreciate everyone who is along for the ride 😊

We live in the hottest city in Europe, so naturally we will go anywhere to escape…

So in summer 2022 we went to England, Finland, Estonia and Sweden.

We first visited Ian’s friends and family in Cambridge and London 🇬🇧 . Picnics on the grass, lots of walking and of course a Sunday roast. Got sunburnt ! ☀️

Then we “popped” over to Finland 🇫🇮 to visit our friends and explored while they worked. We also got to see Justin Bieber live! From the comfort of a grassy hill, I really am becoming a big Finland fan 😹.

We then decided to take a big boat across the Baltic Sea to Estonia 🇪🇪 and explore Tallinn Old Town, an UNESCO site and one of the best preserved medieval 🏰 town in Europe! Ian hunted for sausages and a horn, I found wooden cat dolls.

Ian had done some researching and found it cheaper for us to take an overnight ferry ⛴️ to Stockholm 🇸🇪 and to fly home from there.

So we took an overnight ferry to Sweden. Had a lot of “Titanic” vibes with the lifeboats and the sheer mass of the boat. We had some drinks and slept in very humbling bunkers 🤣

Woke up in Stockholm, at this point was finding the last of my energy to make the best of the trip because I was so tired. But Stockholm was beautiful and I quickly perked up and thoroughly enjoyed our time walking along the seas that the Vikings had sailed.

In October 2021 I decided to quit meat, men and (social) media 😹 🤷🏽‍♀️

My friends had just moved to Helsinki so I kindly invited myself for a visit 🙊

I was a little nervous about going to winter as I haven’t been in cold weather in years (I like spring and summer and that’s about it) but once I booked my flight I knew I needed to just get over it.

Probably my favorite thing about Finland aside from the vast beautiful scenery is the fact I could eat all the cheese and ice cream anywhere and everywhere because Finnish people are also lactose intolerant! Have I found my forever home ? 🤔

We had a full itinerary which also included driving to my friend’s parents house in the middle of Finland, which is the most north I’ve been aside from flying over the North Pole. Beautiful countryside and I got to experience snow for the first time in forever. Moose 🫎 sign crossings and sauna houses everywhere. Plentiful amount of fresh delicious salmon served daily. We also got to experience a Finnish country band @stevenseagull and drink Finnish cocktails with berries (which grow abundantly throughout the country so I really want to come back for some berry picking). I also managed to find a hot yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ studio inside one of the many gigantic malls in Helsinki.

Part 1 of my surf yoga adventure in Punta Rocas. Days are full of teaching yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️, beach walks and adventuring with new friends. This place has been a blessing while I battle international bureaucracy 🤦🏽‍♀️ but more on that later. As you can tell, the beach life still lives strong in me and I have been soaking up every minute. What started as a 2 day stay turned into a week with sand dunes and pool days. Hello social world again! It’s been a nice 2.5 year hiatus and now have plenty of updates to share 😊 I’ve been living in Sevilla and working on staying in Spain for close to forever. I have finally found my forever home 🏡. Lots of traveling has been happening, only now it’s been with my favorite person 💕 We live together in Spain and he actually travels more than me, I’m now the person that says I want to stay in one place longer 😹 oh the irony! My Spanish life is full of great friendships, never ending visa issues, late nights and vino 🍷 . In 2021 after the fires and being evacuated, I needed to disconnect so I became vegetarian, gave up dating and social media. But naturally after a month of this I meet Ian and well, now we live together and have been together over 2 years now. I still prefer not to eat meat and now I am going to give this a trial run on social media. So feel free to say hi, I’ve missed being able to message friends because I didn’t have their WhatsApp but I didn’t want to reactivate my account. 2024 is a big year of travel for me so I hope to meet up with even more friends this year around the world 🌎 (Oh and I got my first tattoo ! @sorrelltattoos )
