if zero shopping places gave out bags, how long would it take you to start bringing your own?
if no restaurants gave out straws, how long would it take for you to make a habit of carrying a straw with you?
convenience. this is why single use plastics are so popular. grocery bags and plastic straws are not mandatory, we just prefer them.
