He never made it a day in a shirt,
He’s not coming back as a bird
He’s not coming back
He’s not coming back.

But I still live by the things he taught me,
Like how to forgive when they’re not sorry
And the government isn’t trying to kill you,
They just don’t care if they kill you.

I am my old man’s oldest son.
I fought the wall, and the wall won.
But if I ever come out of hiding,
You won’t have to know how to find me again.

Now I can’t see any stars in the sky,
When a dream comes true, a fantasy dies.

But we’re gonna be alright,
Me and you,
You love me, and I won’t ever let you forget.

New headshots are in! by @caiothatdreamer

Two words were exchanged. I told him, “you’re my hero”. He paused and said, “thank you”.

Let me tell you a story. There was this boy who was obsessed with music since he was a kid. There was this band that came into his life in his most formative years. I’m talking when you realize who you are, what and who you’re into, and what you want do with your future. This boy decided: he would move to Los Angeles and become a big artist, like his heroes.

His heroes were Linkin Park. And the boy was me.

I don’t think there’s anything I could say right now but I wanted to write this right away because the love I’ve carried for this band for so many years needs to be shouted out into the world. All of the nights I spent looking at videos, watching every single LPTV, listening to the albums. All the moments I got into fights at school because “Linkin Park is the best band in the world and you need to shut the fuck up!”. All the crazy shit I did to see them in concert in October of 2012. All the tears that I cried when Chaz was gone. All the tears that I cried when they were back and brought two more into the family. All the friends I made and the sister I found because of them. All of the emotions and the life saving songs and the school projects and the tattoos and the memorials and the people. All of it, a winding windy roller coaster of ups and downs, for us to arrive, inexplicably and wonderfully, HERE.

@linkinpark you guys always were and will be my favorite band for the rest of my life. @emilyarmstrong @colinbrittain thank you for the high fives! Both of you! I love you two so much for being a part of this for me. @mrjoehahn @phoenixlp @braddelson missed you there.

And @m_shinoda - if I was to put into words how much your art means to me I would embarrass the fuck out of myself. I would need 20 lifetimes to be able to thank you for helping me become the person that I am today. Unfortunately I fell on the curse of a bad photo with my favorites again, but it doesn’t matter. This will go in my living room. I’m telling my kids about this. It’s like I’ve waited all this time to tag you in a photo.

“So let me say right now for the record:
I am still going to be here
Asking this world to dance
Even if it keeps stepping on my holy feet.

You, you stay here with me, okay?
You stay here with me.

Raising your bite against the bitter dark
Your bright longing
Your brilliant fists of loss.
Friend, if the only thing we have to gain in staying is each other
My god that is plenty
My god that is enough
My god that is so so much for the light to give
Each of us at each other’s backs
Whispering over and over and over

LIVE.
LIVE.
LIVE..”

I haven’t written a song in Portuguese in 15 years.

When my soul brother and frequent collaborator Sean Eckmann told me he got into Brazilian music after finding some old vinyls at his local store, I didn’t know that was going to take me on a journey to reconnect to my roots. I’m a born and raised Brazilian boy who wanted to be a citizen of the planet - but my roots became branches in that land. So naturally, after months of rediscovering my own culture and having creative songwriting sessions with Sean, he came up with a samba disco track and asked if I wanted to write in Portuguese for it. I was terrified. I didn’t know where to start or what to sing about. But then, after flying to Texas so we could work on some recording, we started talking about the story of how he met his wife (and my soul sister also), and I knew exactly what story I wanted to tell.

We wanted to make this track sound like something you would hear in the radio in Rio de Janeiro in the 70s. I hope you enjoy it with a good churrasco and a caipirinha - not to sound stereotypical, I fucking love a caipirinha.

“A Brasileira”
Written and Composed by yours truly + Sean.
“Melanie”
Written by yours truly + Sean, composed by Sean.
Both tracks produced by Sean.

Out now. x

Lost boys find me. by @caiothatdreamer

Warped Tour, thank you for having us. Performing for you has been a dream of mine since I was 14 years old and read the stories of Paramore’s first big tour with you and Hayley Williams’ Warped tattoo. I didn’t get to get one this time but next time for sure. We don’t have stuff like this in Saturn.

Next time I see you, it will be on the main stage. @vanswarpedtour

Huge thanks to my boy @grandson - I’ve been a fan of your music since 2019 and I am so happy to have shared that moment with you. Our performance helped me get some of my anger out. Here’s to many more.

One day I’ll be able to post the videos of this performance once we no longer live in a fascist regime. 🤭 Earth is weird.

I wanna do it again,
I wanna dance in the strobe lights.
I wanna choke on the smoke
And feel your eyes on me.
