Lekker bezig met het maken van nieuwe tunes, dus lijkt het me leuk om alvast wat demo’s te posten. Is “Jij Hoopt” er eentje om te releasen?🎶

"In the love stirred by photography (by certain photographs), another music is heard, its name oddly old fashioned: pity." - Roland Barthes

Photography's violence turns living memory into stone-dead vision. Your insta feed is like an endless funeral procession. All the things you missed, so many more than all you saw live.

Excuse my naivete, but people live! Their art eats, breathes, and grows. Their process expels emotional and symbolic excess in a nervous, joyous outburst.

And less than anywhere else, the free field of the open mic demands no repetition, no form, no recognizability or legibility.

It's as much of an orgy as you'll get in Enschede.

I wouldn't know.

(Hmu if you do)

Look, I don't take photos to document. I also don't want to "do music photography," engage in its "art form," or measure up to its aesthetics. Not that I can escape any of that, it's just a want and its lack.

What I do want is for you to see these stirring strings while they stir. I want you to go see starting, unsigned, unknown musicians, to feel the scarcity of their ritual, the rarity of their performance, its fleeting life.

These songs may never be recorded. The people may never play again.

Go mad with pity! Make time for the next open mic, take in a song and immediately forget it, praise the players, fall in love with life and its passing.

Failing that, I want you to like share and subscribe.
