Yesterday was a day of deep sorrow Luna has died and my heart is broken.
She was the most beautiful blue whippet with eyes of liquid love , soft velvet ears and a very gentle soul that gave me so much happiness .

Leaving Sussex felt bittersweet. A beautiful drive home in the October golden light back to memories and my place I call home.
There was a lovely card waiting for me all the way from Queensland Australia from another Sally a very dear friend of over 50years to my late Mum . Her loving words welcomed me back home.

Definitely a highlight of my Sussex adventure was walking up the white chalk steep path to Chanctonbury Ring. A most beautiful morning fresh dew and sunshine and a gentle breeze greeted us at the top under the beech trees.
Chanctonbury Ring is a prehistoric hill fort on top of Chanctonbury Hill on the South Downs. In the 18th century a landowner planted a ring of beech trees around its perimeter to beautify the site. They have been a famous landmark for centuries but sadly in the Great Storm of 1987 a huge number of the trees were destroyed, but they were replaced with new sapling trees.
I particularly loved the two trees that have become one their roots forever entwined.🌳💚🌳

Making the best of a very wet day in West Sussex. A visit to the Weald and Downland Museum which was a pleasure indeed. Lots to see and discover also very dog friendly in all areas. I was shattered by the evening so curled up in bed with my iPad and Velvie very content 😌.

Another lovely day of walking taking in the magnificent views from Cissbury Hill and then lunch in Worthing followed by walking the promenade. Listening to the sea and enjoying the sunshine.

I am currently visiting Sussex the county of my birth.
I am here to carry out my darling late Mother’s last wishes and return her ashes to this beautiful land where she was born and raised . I will be returning her to the ancient sacred place where she once was very happy and she took me and my two brothers in 1962 to be christened in a very special little church here in West Sussex. 💒
But today our first day it has been a full day of walking, watching the majestic Red Kites, shopping and sightseeing in Arundel . A blast of sea breezes on West Beach Littlehampton and a most delicious evening meal of skate wing with leeks, crushed potatoes and samphire.

The soft gentle grey sky was very beautiful yesterday at the beach. A gift of the universe.
A delicious peach ice cream 🍦 🍑and a pearly White Sea shell 🐚 and of course my loving family all helped to bring joy to my day.

Oh what a day of days! Golden September sunshine ☀️ So much love and joy amongst the tears of grief and sadness . ✨✨✨We did our Mum , beloved Granny and friend to many proud yesterday.
No mournful black just an uplifting collective of blue , green ,white and tweed.
The flowers were just so gentle and beautiful that topped her Somerset Willow Casket as we walked slowly beside her I felt her love so strong. It was as if she was guiding us through. 🪽✨🦋

Time flies so quickly It’s been one whole year since that awful day when I received the dreadful news that my Jonathan was seriously ill and in grave danger.
He had suffered a severe heart attack and his heart had gone into Cardiogenic shock . A life threatening medical emergency where the heart is suddenly unable to pump enough blood and oxygen to vital organs.
I was walking on the beach with Velvie and my daughter when we got this terrible news. I remember the fear and panic that took over my body the uncontrollable shaking a day etched in my psyche for ever.
It has been quite a year but he is doing remarkably well and although we still have some serious decisions to make for his future heart health and condition,he is here and that is all that matters and I am so thankful.
