All of you know me as Caity Gonzalez, but many more know me as Onya Tushie #10. Being back on the track after taking some years off to be a first responder get married and become a mommy to two amazing souls is something I don’t take lightly. Here is your reminder that who you are doesn’t stop when you become a mom or a parent!

I have played this sport (roller derby) for 12 years. I started at 12 years old and immediately fell in love, grew my skill set and knew I wanted to play at a high level. I’ve been back playing now with VCDD @vcderby for maybe 2 months and we’ve had 5 games total since I got here. We have won every single game. We play hard, smart, and with an amazing attitude.

This is a full contact no bullshit sport. Quite literally playing offense and defense simultaneously is something that takes so much skill.. not to mention getting hit and jumping/ juking on rollerskates! I plan to play for as long as I can in this lifetime. Cheers to year 13! 🥳🛼✨💕

The truth of the matter is this:

I don’t have all the answers, I actually have the same questions. But the next influencer doesn’t have all the answers either… a hard thing to learn, is Instagram itself doesn’t have what you need. Your gut and your intuition has it all. Learning from what doesn’t work and implementing new ways to do things is what works. I’m figuring shit out every day. Having a following doesn’t mean a damn thing honestly. It doesn’t mean a person knows more than you do.

Life is all about figuring it the hell out as you go. So if you ask me… I really don’t fucking know. 🤍✨
