WHIMSICAL WATERS EDGE//

What a fabulous (and sunny) day we had at the beginning of May for this dreamy styled shoot @watersedgewedding 🩷💕

It was beautifully planned and brought together by the very talented @katemarieeventstyling with an amazing team of suppliers, including stunning images from @hayleyelizabethphotographer beautiful florals from @rosabel_blooms and the prettiest wedding stationery from @lauren_daisy_

I've been wanting to try out wafer paper flowers for a my cakes for such a long time now and this was the perfect opportunity - I think they are exactly what I envisaged for the slightly whimsical, springtime feel that this shoot embodied 🩷💕

P&G 🤍

It was such a pleasure to make this cake for one of my oldest friends (I should say longest standing, not oldest!) for her wedding at the stunning @butleypriory 🤍

As soon as she outlined some of the aspects she would like, I knew I would love designing and making it. She is amazing with plants, and that was a huge part of the wedding theme, so the Sugar Succulents and Silver Birch finish to the cake fitted perfectly.
I also got to make use of my fabulous @prop.options spacer to create a floating tier for the trailing succulents (any excuse really) and my gorgeous white marble stand to display the cake. 🤍

For their flavours, P&G went for an entirely vegan cake with Sticky Ginger and Lemon, Almond Chocolate Chilli and Lemon Drizzle. Stunning images from @stevenpcollins plus a few extras - swipe to see the loveliest 'Cutting the Cake' shots 🤍

I think this is officially the furthest I have ever transported a wedding cake over 3 hours/170 miles, including about 50 billion* roundabouts passing Milton Keynes - a cake maker's least favourite hazard on a journey (along with steep hills and potholes!) nonetheless we (and cake) got there safe and sound and had a truly wonderful day celebrating! 🤍

SUGAR FLOWERS//

Huge Congratulations to K&V who married at the beautiful @upcote_barn earlier this week.
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

I've been making their celebration cakes for a few years now, and it was such a pleasure to be able to make their Wedding Cake.

They went for a huge sweep of Sugar Flowers across the front of their cake (along with a hidden back design - that I completely forgot to take pictures of... 🤦🏻‍♀️).
I loved their Navy and Blush colour scheme and had a wonderful time making the sugar flowers to go on the cake and compliment their real flowers. I have to say, I am so in love with the variety of flowers on this one, that I feel like I'll be spamming my grid with shots of it for a while! 😆😊

I was so pleased to be able to use my gorgeous @prop.options Mango Wood stand for this one, and with all the wood and rustic features at Upcote I don't think I could have found a better fitting stand!
I also got to use my brilliant new Veronica mould from @christina_wallis_flowers ( I can't wait to find the time to use more of my beautiful moulds and cutters from her range).

Flavours wise, K&V chose Madagascan Vanilla with Raspberry Jam for the base tier, Chocolate Raspberry for the middle tier and Lemon Drizzle with my Homemade Lemon Curd for the top tier.

N&J//

Happy 2nd Anniversary to N&J who had their beautiful wedding at the stunning @kirtlingtonpark back in 2024! 🤍

As ever lovely to work with the brilliant team at @greens_catering (you can see just a peep of their gorgeous setup) 🤍

It might have taken me a while to post this (I'm not the best at social media) but this one popped up in memories, I just love the simplicity of it, and it remains a favourite with the combination of the classic white background, and the sugar, wafer paper and painted foliage 🤍

For their flavours, N&J went with Lemon Elderflower, Almond Bakewell and Pistachio & Raspberry 🤍 taken in Kirtlington Park, Oxfordshire by @cakeaways

S&T//

I keep having the best of intentions of doing an actual post, and it just doesn't happen! All the way back to January for my first Wedding Cake of 2026 at the lovely @cotswoldshotelandspa_weddings

The went with a Classic White finish, and Elegant Sugar Florals - Delicate Rugosa Roses and Hydrangea with just a little Foliage to complement the Flowers.

S&T also kept it classic with their flavours - going for a split of Madagascan Vanilla and Rich Double Chocolate. taken in Cotswolds Hotel & Spa by @cakeaways

The Ashmolean//

What a wonderful evening it was at the @ashmoleanevents Wedding Open Evening at the end of January!
It is always such a pleasure to work at the Ashmolean, and so many couples commented that after seeing the museum as a potential venue, it was hard to imagine anywhere that could top it!

Anyone who knows me knows I love to make totally unique cakes, that fit not only the couple but also the venue, and I have been desperate to do a Mosaic Cake to tie in with the feel of the Greco-Roman gallery at the Ashmolean (I'm not going to lie - the hand painted royal iced mosaic sections did take somewhat longer than anticipated - but I absolutely loved doing it). Sugar florals to complement the beautiful flowers provided by Marta @cotswoldbotanical (I am an absolute sucker for Icelandic poppies)

The Ashmolean//

What an absolutely fabulous evening last month at the @ashmoleanevents Wedding Open Evening - such a huge thank you for inviting me to be a part of it!
Thank you also to @vandhweddingphotography for their beautiful images capturing the evening.
I designed my cake to tie in with the stunning details in the Greco Roman room - and made a sugar vase inspired by a Roman vase I found on display in The Met, filled with sugar and wafer paper flowers to match the autumnal theme.
It really was so lovely to chat all things cake with so many couples, as well as all of the other brilliant suppliers who were there, (when I'm doing an actual wedding setup, there's no time for chatting 🙃).

I can't believe it's nearly the end of November already - I don't know where this year has gone! Only a couple more weddings to go this year, so I'm currently focusing on catching up with everything that has been pushed aside throughout the season, and I'm getting taster boxes and consultations for next year's weddings underway.

S&D//

Huge Congratulations to the lovely S&D who had their beautiful wedding at the gorgeous @cotswoldshotelandspa_weddings back in August.

A massive thank you to the fantastic @samandstevephotography for their stunning images of the cake - swipe to see their beautiful cutting the cake shots.

S&D went ultra classic with their cake, White Sugar Roses and Gypsophila, with contrasting Dark Green Sugar Foliage. I absolutely loved designing and making their cake with them, because whilst I do love cakes that are colourful and modern, I will always love making all the classic sugar flowers!

Congratulations to E&E who had their beautiful wedding at the stunning @vocooxfordthames back in May 💜

I think everyone knows how much I love making sugar flowers, and this whimsical design is definitely one of my favourites from this year! 💜

E&E were absolutely amazing to work with and gave me so much creative freedom for their design, so I was able to play about with which sugar flowers I made, just making sure they matched the beautiful flowers Karen @giltedgeevents used to do all the stunning venue decorations and the bouquet. 🤍

And for the important part underneath all the decorations, they went for Rich Chocolate Buttermilk, Madagascan Vanilla with Strawberry Preserve, Lemon Drizzle and also a Traditional Brandied Fruit Cake 💜 taken in voco Oxford Thames by @cakeaways

D&S//

What a stunning day for D&S @bodleianlibraryweddings back in July.
A huge thank you to @weddingsbynicolaandglen for capturing such stunning images on I think about the hottest day of the year!

It was such an absolute pleasure to work with D&S to create their origami themed wedding cake! I love being able to create something special and truly unique for my couples, and I had such immense fun working with D&S to put together their design. D makes the most beautiful origami, and this had to feature on the cake! Whilst my origami probably doesn't quite live up to his amazing work, I think I can now fold origami cranes in my sleep!

For their flavours, they went for a custom Summer Rhubarb Sponge with Rhubarb Curd and Buttercream, Dark Chocolate and Coconut, and Sticky Ginger and Rhubarb

A huge thank you to @amelieskitchenstencils for making the stunning custom monogram stencil and embosser for the matching sugar cookies.
