Some #bts action from yesterday’s beautiful Garden party wedding with @justalittleditty featuring citrus cake filled with lemon curd and strawberries and alternating layers of blueberry curd with fresh and pressed local blooms from @leapfrogflowerfarm and @liliharpflowers. 🌸 (also a little commentary by yours truly on how I’m trying to keep up with social content…always be #tokin 😉🙃)

Somehow tomorrow is October 1st 😱, so here’s a little sneak preview of some good and ghoulish things in store for next month… 🎃

Tomorrow, our 4th annual Halloween “Witches Tea” and Día de los Muertos cake decorating workshop go on sale, so be sure and keep an eye out as space will be very limited in both! 👻

We’ll also be bringing back some offerings near and dear to our heart to help support the fight against breast cancer. 🎀

We look forward to celebrating all the things with you, all month long.

For now, we’re off to the Pen Park farmers market today, 3-7 pm, so come see us and make this gorgeous day even sweeter. We’ll have a special *new* Chai Spice cake with walnut praline and our famous Halva torte in rotation, along with our fall seasonals, french macarons, cake parfaits, popovers, Olive Oil Granola and more!

And we’re open at the shop Wednesday - Friday, 12-6 pm, Saturday 11 am - 5 pm with our mac’n’chz, grilled popover sandwichez and all the cake.

It’s impossible to choose a favorite from September, but it’s safe to say that we’re really proud of what we’re putting out in the world and having so much fun making each order extra special in whatever way that means for you.

Whether we were baking to celebrate 103 years (!!!), customizing wedding cakes down to the petal or taking part in a couples’ gender reveal, we know every cake holds meaning–and often a lot of emotion–and we’re always touched when you share the stories and events they’ll be a part of–so please keep sharing! It brightens our days more than you’ll ever know. 🥰

Behind the scenes, we’ve been playing with our food quite a lot and feeling all kinds of creative momentum, so stay tuned for some exciting new things coming from our kitchen team. 😊

“Too Long Summer” is the theme of our September cake club slice. 🍐 🍋‍🟩 🍁
Featuring caramelized pear upside down cinnamon butter cake filled with black raspberry jam and lime curd, this gooey slice captures our current yearnings for crisp weather, while saying farewell to our favorite flavors of summer. ☀️
We made extra slices for the case so swing by ASAP before they’re gone.

The cake of my blue jean dreams deserves a permanent spot on the grid, don’t ya think? 💙
This was a special custom order “chic cake” for a recent denim launch at @anthropologie #cville, and I’m honestly still crushing on it and hoping for more requests like this very soon! (Hint, hint friends;)

Navigating business growth with an emphasis on systems and consistency, while finding little outlets for play like this to fill our cups is something we think and talk about a lot over here. Like many, we’re creatives at heart always trying to balance artistic yearnings with the realities of entrepreneurship and supporting a team.

Long weekends call for extra long cake. 💚
We kicked off our busy season yesterday with 5+ feet of Strawberry Belle adorned in lotsa textural moments of buttercream, blooms, herbs, fruits and vines for C&C’s big day. 💕

Huge thanks to the many #bts folks who helped bring this one to life including our sweet @llexiclarkk 🧑‍🍳 and flower friend @leapfrogflowerfarm. 🍃
