Modern Wedding & Celebration Cakes
Dublin 🇮🇪
Ganache | Swiss Meringue Buttercream

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Look, we need to give it up for event planners because this party STRESSED me 😭.

Like… the amount of things you have to think about when you’re planning a party?! Food, decor, cake, balloons, tables, flowers… and somehow you’re also supposed to enjoy yourself??

But anyway, let’s talk about this cake because I was actually so proud of how she turned out.

I made two tier cakes for her — a rich chocolate cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream and caramel filling, and a vanilla cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream and raspberry compote. Both were covered in ganache before I decorated them.

And honestly… the inside needed to taste as good as the outside looked. 🤌🏽

My little fairy’s first birthday cake 🧚🏽‍♀️💜🎂

And yes, I made it myself through my cake page @cakeitbylarabel by @cakeitbylarabel

When I tell you kids party are for grown ups this is what I mean 😊, special thanks to Ayomide’s uncles and aunties for taking out time to come celebrate with her, we are grateful 🥳🥳🥳🤗 @mr.vibess_ provided the music and @mcrealonetrey did what he does best, to make it a memorable celebration.

Nobody talks about how you still find sprinkles on the floor days after decorating a cake 🫣.

Let’s talk about cake pricing! You might see a price tag like €370 for a custom cake and think, ‘Wow, that’s a lot!’ But what a lot of people don’t realize is that the cost covers much more than just my time. When I price a cake, I’m factoring in high-quality ingredients, specialized tools, hours of labor, design time, electricity, rent, and even the cost of cake boards and boxes!

It all adds up quickly, and honestly, the profit margin for bakers isn’t as big as it might seem. After all expenses, what’s left over is often modest.I take pride in delivering the best for your events, but that means there’s a lot behind the scenes you may not see. So next time you think, ‘€370 for a cake is a lot,’ remember, each slice is a piece of art and dedication. Thank you for valuing the work that goes into making your celebrations unforgettable! 🙏

Me at 1:47am: Just finished the final coat on the cake, turned it for one last proud look and… there it was—a crack to ruin my night! 🤦‍♀️😄 Packed it up, tossed it in the fridge, and left it for future me to handle. Cake crisis averted... until morning!

One of many ways to fix a cracked ganache is to pour your melted ganache in a piping bag, cut a small opening, fit the piping bag into the hole and fill, scrape until smooth. You’re welcome ☺️

So I tried the scallop cake design and well it was a bit of a tough one but eventually had a hang of it 😎. The cake design was meant to be bluey but we ended up with tealy if there’s a word like that 😄😄 life of a baker
