POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Played on this heater of a song from @kyleclarkmusic earlier this week. I don’t always deliver a reverb track when I record, but if I do, it’s liable to be gated.

Also, looks like this might be my first proper “drum video” to post in 2026, so Happy New Year 🎊 taken in Battery Life Studios by @calebgilbreath

Had a ton of fun working on this new @briankelley album! I got to handle drums/percussion/programming duties on all 10 tracks (lots of laptop drums, and a few real ones). Jimmy Buffett Summer (track 9) was recorded @batterylifestudios and co-produced by myself and @katlinowen, and I had a blast producing a REMIX of that song (track 10). Big thanks to the Beach Cowboy and @katlinowen for having me and continuing to be a blast to work with. Go check it out! taken in Battery Life Studios by @calebgilbreath

My favorite person @mandisagal just released my favorite song she’s ever written! If you love your animals half as much as we love ours, I dare you to make it through the second verse without tearing up. 🥲 🐶

Incredible work by everyone on this beautiful song

Man, sometimes, to find your center, you just gotta put on Cold Sweat, mute them Clyde drums, and play along for awhile. You know what I mean? taken in Battery Life Studios by @calebgilbreath

I’ve never gotten so many DMs in response to a story, so I thought I’d post this here so we’re all thinking about it.

Using AI as a creative tool is becoming more and more common, for better or for worse. I’ve gotten more requests lately to replace AI drums with real drums, which is fine, it’s not unlike replacing a performance or programming from a demo that needs to be upgraded.

This instance, where a client used AI to analyze the difference between my performance (which honestly copied the sound and “performance” of the AI probably 98%, as was requested) and then give me AI generated notes on how to be more like the AI, is one of the more insane experiences of my music career. I initially burst out laughing, then got kinda sad 😔

Let’s all do our best to be creative and human out there

If you care to, just for fun, listen to my performance on the first slide, and compare to the AI drums on the second slide taken in Battery Life Studios by @calebgilbreath
