Him I’m Caleb, and this is my favorite bass species: the SHOAL BASS.🔥🎣

Let me introduce you to “Micropterus cataractae”

Shoal bass are one of the rarest black bass species in North America. They only live in a handful of river systems in Georgia, E. Alabama, and N. Florida, where they depend on clean, flowing water with rocky shoals and swift current.

They’re built for current, fight unbelievably hard for their size, and have become a symbol of healthy rivers. Because of their limited range and habitat loss(due heavily to spotted bass and or tearing down of dams), they’re a fish worth appreciating and protecting.

If you’ve never caught one, put it on your bucket list and you’ll understand why it’s my favorite after your first encounter.
