Meet Freyr (Frey) 🥰 At the beginning of this year we added a new member to our family. Piper was so lonely after we lost Pearl, we knew we needed to find her a companion. Pearl left a hole that could never be filled when she went, but she certainly did her best in choosing and sending her replacement. It really fees like she sent him. Turns out he is perfect and exactly what we needed. We wanted a sassy little baby just like Pearl who would be cuddly and playful and we got all that and more. He was all alone in the world with no Momma or siblings at animal control from about two weeks old to two months old (all alone the whole time 🥺) He was our missing piece and it feels like we were destined for one another. Caleb tells him the Norns had ordained it, and he loves to hear about his Viking stories. We say that Pearl is Freyr’s fairy godmother and trained him in all the secret ways of how to make mischief and annoy his big sister Piper. He’s silly, and sweet, and playful, and brave. He’s our very own little Cornish pixie and he brings so much joy and Love to us everyday. We are so lucky and can’t wait to see the little baby man he grows into. We already Love him so much and he’s become such a huge part of our lives and our hearts. Thank you Pearl! And thank you Freyr for being our tiny tornado, alarm clock, Purr factory, and little prince. We Love you so much. by @calebmbranam

Our home was so quiet this morning. Waking without Pearl for the first time felt unbearable. She was such a tiny family member and yet she had the biggest energy and presence. My sweet Pearl has been fighting hard for a handful of months but it was time to let her go yesterday. She has been my little ride or die, partner in crime, familiar, emotional support cat, and soul mate for 16 years. She would be at my side before I even knew I needed help. The night before we lost her while we were making tough decisions and crying, she used up the last of her energy to crawl into my lap and comfort me. She was the purest soul and the most special cat I have ever known. We will all also forever remember how hilarious she was. Sassy, goofy, talkative, expressive. We always joked that she was like a wise sassy old witch trapped in a cats body. She would crawl up and sit on my shoulders while I played guitar and sang. She had a chocolate chip cookie on her stomach. She was so beautiful and unique and special. It feels surreal to not have her here. I keep thinking I’m going to see her curled up on the couch or hear her sauntering in from the other room to tell me something. She’s been with me my entire adult life and I don’t know how to live without her. It feels like a chapter of my life is ending with her. I guess that’s what grief is. A part of us is lost forever. I will think of you every day and love you forever Pearl. I’m so thankful we found each other and got to live so much life together. I’m glad you’re resting now 💔 “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” A. A. Milne/ Winnie the Pooh by @calebmbranam

Don’t forget the cowards who murdered Breonna Taylor remain free, much like they remain cowards and murderers who continue to hide behind their badges and racist corrupt masters. I don’t care what set of clothes you got on, if you shoot an unarmed person in their bed then you’re a coward and a murderer, and there’s a price you have to pay. Justice must be done. by @calebmbranam
https://chicagobond.org/donate #ChicagoCommunity BondFund. I know a lot of people have beat me to this, but a great place to help out and donate. I personally believe in this organization and the work they’re doing. It’s not just protesters either, if you want look into the story of Cassandra Greer. My friend @talktoher2014 turned me on to this organization, powerful stuff. If it doesn’t work for you find another, everyone can help in some way. Love to all those in the struggle and everyone looking to be better tomorrow than they woke up this morning. by @calebmbranam
