Why do we need to prove someone else wrong before we can feel right?

We see something we disagree with, and immediately we want to fight it. Someone says eating meat is demonic, and we reach for science. We have facts, studies, explanations; they have beliefs, symbols, maybe a book. And we think the difference is that our side is real.

But what if the need to be right is the very thing we have in common?
People have always found reasons to justify how they treat one another. Sometimes those reasons come from religion, sometimes science, sometimes tradition, politics, or whatever story we happen to believe. The explanation changes, the human behavior often doesn't.

And we can spend our entire lives arguing over whose explanation is correct, and never examine what we're actually doing to each other. Because humanity isn't just these stories we tell ourselves, it's what we do when someone disagrees with us. It's whether we show compassion or contempt, whether we try to understand or simply find a more sophisticated way to dismiss someone.

And we're not only one thing. We're instinct and reason, impulse and restraint. The primal creature that wants to survive, and the conscious being that chooses how to live. Neither disappears because we give the other ... is, but feed one at the expense of the other, and eventually something breaks.

Maybe the point isn't to stop believing what we believe. Maybe it's to stop confusing our beliefs with the entirety of who we are.

Because we can be right about what we believe, and still be wrong about how we treat each other.

At the end of everything, it comes down to one word, Fight

Wake up depressed? Fight.

Life isn't what you thought it would be? Fight.
You're in a room you don't want to be in, surrounded by circumstances you you never asked for. Living a life you barely recognize? Fight.

And eventually, you fight long enough, you'll get out of that room. You'll get into a better room.

But here's the problem with that. Once you've spent so much of your life fighting, you don't know how to do anything else. So you start fighting to get out of that room, too.

And the rooms keep getting better. Your circumstances improve. Your opportunities expand. But somehow, you're still fighting.

Maybe that's what religion has been trying to teach us for thousands of years. Surrender.

Not surrendering to defeat. Surrender to the idea that everything must be resisted, that every moment must be improved, that every room is just somewhere to escape from. Because resistance can save your life, but it can also become your life.

And I think there's something beautiful about the human refusal to give up, about standing up one more time when everything in your body says stay down.
So fight. Fight for your life. Fight for something better. Fight for the people you love.
But remember this: if you never learn to stop fighting, you might spend your entire life winning battles in a war that ended years ago. taken in Lekki Phase 1, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. by @calebyinusa

I've prioritised bridging gaps between a problem and an efficient solution rather than just learning how to code.

Meet Caleb Yinusa, a man who would die for the badge. Forged from water and air, built for the battle, and seemingly allergic to letting attackers breathe.

His greatest weapon isn't just the tackle — it's his awareness. He reads the game before it happens, anticipates the danger, closes the gaps, and knows exactly when to step in. You don't simply run past Caleb; you better have a plan. 😤

For him, the badge isn't something you wear on your chest — it's something you carry in your heart. Every challenge is personal. Every ball is worth fighting for. Every game is an opportunity to defend the honour of the shirt.

And retirement? Not anytime soon.
