After The Moment pt.3- a selection of a collection of smartphone photos that I have been keeping for over a decade. Maybe it's the time—the world that kept turning, passing these moments by—that makes me emotional, reanimates the melancholy longing for a non-specific past. Or the time, here and now in the swirling humors of uncertainty, rage, detachment, and hope, that opens onto misremembered pasts and unforseeable futures, forcing me to cling to the convoluted feelings trapped in abstraction. Wondering if these markers, little square silicate tombstones emanating manufactured light, will be a sufficient elegey for those still televisually seeking my likeness while I'm gone tasting the sun. by @calexclark

After The Moment pt.2 - a selection of a collection of smartphone photos that I have been keeping for over a decade. Through collecting these photos, allowing them to continue existing and inspiring a strange desire within me, rather than discarding them as so much digital refuse —excess bred of accidental touches and clicks, often wiped from memory as undesireable— I grow this seed of creativity in seemingly barren soil. Amidst streams of camera rolls overfilled by images with use value, crisp shots that clearly communicate specificity, these obscure images provide fertile ground for revived imagination. by @calexclark

After The Moment pt.1 - a selection of a collection of smartphone photos that I have been keeping for over a decade. These moments, unclear and mysterious, revealing little about time or place, were captured seemingly by accident. Not meaning to open the camera app or clicking the shutter without intention, the moment was recorded spontaneously. In an age oversaturated with images, where we can take a thousand shots to get the right framing/lighting/pose/etc, these undesired images offer unrequested information about the scene, leaving room for abstract evaluation. Contrary to the popular interpretation of Bresson's thought which emphasises the conscious choice of when to construct an image, these smears of form and color are the images that have unconsciously taken me. by @calexclark
