reflecting on these past few months with quinn and being pregnant through last mother’s day… i actually have no words. becoming a mother has been the hardest, greatest trial. it’s been a total physical and mental metamorphosis and a constant emotional roller coaster, but somehow i am stronger, more beautiful, and more confident than i ever dreamed possible. to see myself this way now makes me teary-eyed. wow—every mom goes through a version of this journey?
here’s a glimpse into mine: i’ve been traveling across different states for my husband’s medical rotations, both while pregnant and now with a baby. during pregnancy, i was so sick i was literally crawling from my bed to the bathroom. my body changed so much more than i expected. and then there’s traveling with a newborn. let’s just say i found myself crying in a las vegas airport bathroom with a two-week-old because i was alone, needed to change both our diapers, and couldn’t find a family restroom. lol.
but my village. wow. i genuinely never understood the weight of that statement until now. i truly couldn’t have faced this adventure, let alone blossomed through it, without the people by my side. because of them, i’ve been able to work as an engineer, start a podcast, finish my masters at usc, model with quinn, support my husband on his journey to becoming a doctor, and become a mom.
my own mom passed when i was very young, so i didn’t grow up seeing what having a mother meant. instead, i’ve had so many mothers take me into their homes and show me glimpses of their love and what it means to be a mom. thank you. thank you to all the moms out there who face anxiety and stress alone but still show up for your family every day. and to those who have harder feelings surrounding this day: thank you, too. you are seen and loved. happy mother’s day✨ #newmom #mothers by @caliciacunningham

happy half a year for quinn 🦋🥹🫶🏽🌻
six months of quinn and six months of becoming the best version of myself.
this chapter has truly been the sweetest, kindest time. postpartum has been such a stressful journey, but learning to handle it has been the best part of my growth.
thank you for teaching me how sweet motherhood is. you are the most beautiful addition to our lives, and being your mother is the greatest honor i’ve ever been given.
