Want a hot, juicy, slab of meat that won't disappoint? I got you...

I went over to @cowboy.pho in Downtown San Jose to see two old friends: a bowl of this delicious brisket pho I had back in 2020 and my buddy Vinh, who is also the owner (not necessarily in that order). It happened to be a rainy day too, so that steaming hot bowl of pho really hit the spot and took stab at my seasonal depression...for lunchtime anyways.

You gotta try them out this weekend. Below are the deets to plug into your GPS.

Cowboy Pho
221 E. SAN FERNANDO ST
SAN JOSE CA, 95112
Open Tuesday - Sunday 11pm -8pm

It's great to see @baryakitchen back on the road...

They really turned it around in a short amount of time, and man, those tacos really hit the spot. A friend and I were at @shakabrewing last night to visit them and, per the usual, the Birria tacos did not dissapoint. Check out thier IG to see when they'll be in your area, and check out Shaka for the locally made craft brews on tap.

@hotjohnnies got me all hot and bothered in the best way possible...

I was in The Castro waiting for a show and decided to give them a try. I ordered a Texas Toast and man, it was amazing: Juicy pastrami, melty havarti cheese, and a spiciness I can only describe as a clean and slow burn. My mom was with me and she enjoyed it too, minus the spicy part.

They also have a cozy patio area for dining in, away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets, which I thought was a great experience overall. If youre in the Castroz give them a try today!

This was Filipino Boy Breakfast

AFter a stressful morning of light, low stake, and inconsequential cardio at the gym. I earned my calories, I damn well am gonna use them.

I got ordered myself some corned beef silog with a side order of spam. Granted, it was greasy af and I'm pretty sure I'll be paying for it later in life, but I only do this once a week, and it's Sunday and New Years eve, so why not start the end of 2023 on a good note?

The garlic fried was hit the spot though, ill give it that. by @caliplateco

Got no plans for the weekend? Well, you do now.

Head on over to @pourdecisionscraft in South San Jose for some delicious craft coffee. I got the signature one last week at thier grand opening, let me tell ya, if you're not a big coffee drinker, I think you're gonna love this one anyways: the PD signature coffee has all the flavor of your old school viet iced coffee without the bitter astringency of a triple divorcee. Sweet and creamy, this will cool you down this weekend from the unseasonably warm weather caused by global warming that will destroy us all.

They normally sell craft beer too, but due to some stuff with the city, can't do so (sorry guys, maybe next time)

How #nationaltacoday didn't fall on a Tuesday seems unlucky, but anyways

Check out some taco pics from days past. Support your local taco vendors in your community today!

When I'm disturbed by the state of the world, and my own life (which is quite often) I like to get something that's good for dinner.

Enter @kokolodonburi in Milpitas. My go to are the Katsu Curry and Pork Belly Chashu. The curry is flavorful without knocking you over with an overpowering scent, the chashu pork is like a good sugar daddy: Thicc and Rich. That broth alone gives life to all who partake in its fatty goodness

As they say in Japan: Itadakimasu! Check it out if you're nearby at MacCarthy Ranch

Today's brunch before doing stuff. This is called the George scramble; there's a nice nugget of cream cheese inside. Next item is the biscuits and gravy, since I can't say no to biscuits and gravy. I'll wrote a full review later, just enjoy the pics for now

I wanted a quesa birrira taco. I got a quesa birrira taco. That really hit the spot one Sunday afternoon.

Was it messy? Yes
Was it delicious? Hell yes
Did I drink the consomme like a shot of liquor? Of course
Did I regret it? Yes for the first second, but afterwards no.

@lasvegastaqueria makes some bomb Mexican food. I've been going there for years and they never disappoint. You gotta try thier all day breakfast, I got some eggs and chorizo to go with my taco.

What do you like to order at Mexican places? Comment or sh!tpost below.

So @crawdaddyrestaurant closed thier Milpitas location (boo) however, I was able to get my fix for dinner at their SJ location (look it up)

There's a YouTube video of me eating crawfish for the first time in my life ever with @omgh0ang and @sirelango . It was a great time for us all. I also forgot how much fries they give ya, thier sweet potato fries can make me thier b*tch any day.

Anyways, you gotta try the crawfish if you head over there. Bring a friend, bring two of them. Impress yourself with the ability to have more than one adult friend in life. You're gonna need them to finish all the food you get.

"You need more veggies in your diet" said the litany of medical professionals I see regularly to make sure I don't fall apart...physically.

I went to @eatalysiliconvalley for lunch to get some pizza, settled on the pancetta pizza since it looked like it had some greens on it (but really, I was doing it for the pancetta). The salty meat, mixed with the zucchini and cheese, was an excellent combo

Also got a simple side salad of greens and parmesean cheese to go with it. Overall, a great lunch to offset the Taco Bell I had this morning, and the subsequent ice cream to follow

Did you h03s miss me? No? Well then....

Anyways, I had a little mommy and me time this past Sunday at the newly opened @matchacafemaiko at @westfieldvf. Mom went all in on the matcha soft serve with some house made whipped cream, while I got the "Golden Shogun" for myself since I was in the mood for some gold in my diet.

The matcha was pretty good overall, I'm a fan of soft serve myself so this was a hit: you get that verdant, refreshing, matcha taste, mixed with creamy, dreamy vanilla cream. Mom went hard and got all matcha. Anyways, check them out at VF when you're over there.

Special s/o to @riceandtravel for the tip
