This past weekend, we celebrated my mum’s 70th birthday a little early with a family getaway to Blue Mountain - and from beginning to end, our mission was to keep her on her toes with surprises, delicious food, and just the right amount of chaos. 💚
There was The Great Kermit Cupcake Caper (and YES, they were SUPPOSED to look like Kermit), a HP-inspired clay adventure, and an entire family outfitted in custom Kermit jammies courtesy of yours truly.
We ate VERY well. An incredible Greek dinner at Tholos, delicious brunches whipped up by Christian, a lasagna feast courtesy of Sonya, and patio drinks with Fred in tow. (Betty stayed back at the Airbnb to protect the premises...lol)
One of the biggest highlights was a compilation of birthday wishes from so many wonderful people. A HUGE thank you to everyone who sent a video! And what better way to cap it off than a delightfully kooky appearance by 94-year-old William Roache, who has played Ken Barlow on Coronation Street since 1960?! And Zandy Cakes absolutely outdid herself AGAIN with the most incredible Rovers Return-themed birthday cake!
Special thanks to my dad, Denim G, for making this whole weekend possible while expertly staying out of everyone’s way (a gift in itself), and to my brother Christian and Sonya for all the love, effort, and attention to detail that made everything so special.
But most of all, to my mum. ❤️
The most loving, selfless, creative, generous person I know. All weekend, she kept saying, “STOP! YOU GUYS ARE NUTS! YOU’RE DOING TOO MUCH!”
And all I could think was… there is no such thing as doing too much for someone who has spent her entire life doing everything for everyone else.
You deserve every surprise, every laugh, every ridiculous Kermit cupcake, and so much more.
Happy (almost) 70th birthday, Mum. We love you so much. 💚🐸 xo taken in The Blue Mountains, Ontario by @callandrad

My mum and dad wanted to hear me sing, so I SANG. Thanks to Colleen for hosting a beautiful cabaret, Mark and the band for playing the heck outta this tune, Tall Kirk for doing his thing on sound and to the fab cast of Music of the Beatles for welcoming me into the fun last night! Your show is spectacular. Cheers to D2 for another hugely successful season almost in the books and to the thousands of patrons who support what we do and are so passionate about. Without you, the only living creature who ever would’ve heard me sing this is the spider in my car who has yet to be located. #ihavenothing #whitneyhouston #cabaret taken in Victoria Playhouse Petrolia by @callandrad

You owe no one an explanation. Other people’s assumptions aren’t your why.

Whatever it is you know isn’t serving you - don’t be afraid of the space it leaves. You might be surprised by what grows there.

Make room for what does.

Today, for me, that looks like 1,000 alcohol-free days. 🩶 by @callandrad

What does one say to the man who created the fitness method that transformed your life?

“I’m the girl who dressed up as a Megaformer for Hallowe’en.” Yes, eloquent as always. That being said, my Hallowe’en plans are also levelling up this year.

The one and only Heather - congratulations on organizing an epic weekend!

Fascinating listening to the panels speak this weekend about the future of Lagree as someone who attended this out of sheer passion for the workout as a participant. So many wonderful trainers and studio owners attended and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to chat with many from all over the world!

Obligatory pose on the incredibly snazzy EVO PRO!

🔥

Managed to meet Dayron - even caught him when he wasn’t upside down (moments later he absolutely was filming a wild push-up moment because he is a legend with his logic defying moves). And Sami is so beautiful and I absolutely loved hearing her panel and saying hello in person finally!!! 💗

A Sebastien class has now been crossed off the bucket list! ✔️

I knew Sami would bring the sparkle this weekend so I made my own shirt to wear! (She doesn’t know the lore of me leaving glitter all over my mega but I like to think it bonds us anyway lol) Speaking of what to wear, I was so thrilled to meet @crafteegarage and hit up her vendor booth twice because her merch is so freaking awesome and I needed it all. Thanks for the chats also- meant a lot!

And that’s a wrap on the Lagree Summit 2026. Goes without saying, but I’ll say it - without the incredible community at @lagree_london I would never have found this passion or strength and belief in myself. Soaking in all the moments of the summit, with a deep appreciation for my instructors and friends there- see you tomorrow 😉 taken in MGM Grand Las Vegas by @callandrad

How is she real? 🥹 Whenever I come home from Lagree, she has fully taken my spot on the bed… but I’m pretty sure she knows it to be her spot. by @callandrad
