Yesterday, on Friday, September 18th, I had to face something I never imagined having to face so soon: a life without my mom. ❤️

Over the past few months, my family and I have been navigating my mom’s battle with leukemia. I didn’t share much of what we were going through, but I was incredibly fortunate to spend her final weeks with her and our family. We laughed, cried, reminisced, talked, and played countless games of Mexican Train (one of her favorites!). Even with everything she was going through, we were able to find so much joy in the time we had together. Looking back, I’m beyond grateful for those moments and the memories we made.

She was one of the strongest, most hardworking, loving, and caring people I’ve ever known. She loved her family and friends fiercely and would do anything for the people she loved. No matter what was going on in her life, I could always count on her. She was always there, for school musicals, a recital, or cheering me on at my marathon. Her unwavering support meant the world to me.

And just as she had always been there for me, I’m so thankful I was able to be there for her. I was lucky enough to be by her side when she passed. It was a moment I never could have prepared myself for, but one I will forever cherish.

Mom, thank you for everything. For always showing up, for loving me unconditionally, and for being the most incredible mom I could have ever asked for. I’ll carry your love with me for the rest of my life.

Rest in peace sweet boy! 💔 You’ll forever be missed, but never forgotten.

@corey.perschall provided the greatest life a dog could ever want. Hector had a family and group of friends that loved him unconditionally. Beautiful homes filled with the best food, treats and toys. And most importantly a caring and loving ending surrounded by his closest (@corey.perschall and @holdenakerley)

I feel honored to have known and lived with Hector for a small part of his life and will miss him dearly. ❤️💚🩵 by @callmerolson

Well, folks! My 9 races have officially been completed to qualify for next year’s NYC Marathon. 🥳 The hard part is over! 🏃🏻‍♂️ I’ll see you in Staten Island next month as I complete my volunteer requirement to wrap this up 😎 - Also, we’re doing this race next year and doing sub 6, mark my words.
