I think we are due for a little, “tell me about yourself” as we enter a new season and welcome new friends around the metaphorical cyber bonfire, so I’ll start…but first pass the Hershey’s for my s’more….

Hey! I’m Cally. I’m a thirty-something author, writer, and school teacher who finds beauty in the mysteries of life, and in the glory all around us in the details big and small. Story telling is my passion. I believe each and every one us hold a unique, valuable, and hand-written story by God, and together we are part of the Grand Story He has written.

In addition to serving as a Senior Writer for Crosswalk.com and The Rooted Truth, I’ve been blessed that the books the Lord has entrusted me with have been featured on some pretty rad outlets, check them out as I genuinely believe God might just have a reminder you need to hear today, like truly, I’m just a vessel (Luke 19:12) and I bet there is a reason you are reading this right now. So ask Him and see if there is something He wants you to hear or know within.

My latest book was also graciously awarded the 2025 Christian Literary Awards Reader’s Choice award as well as the Henri Award of Judges. I am pretty convinced my cheeks are permanently going to stay blushing ☺️ I am still so very awestruck at such an honor, but also Luke 17:10 in totality. Soli Deo Gloria.

My heart and mission is to share journeys, lessons, and encouragement as we each walk the path set before us. We don’t walk these days alone, even if we think we do, we don’t.

So, join me in a path towards a life marked by authenticity, genuine connection, relentless and fierce pursuit of deeply rooted truth (John 14) and wisdom (Proverbs 8)……and perhaps some quirky history lessons, nostalgic movie-recreates, and a few down right unexpected adventures along the way.

Can’t believe this was a year ago today! Grateful for that day to share the message the Lord placed within my heart and to reconnected with dearly loved friends and make some deeply cherished new ones!

What is a facet about yourself you call a flaw because of someone else’s definition? What if we stopped letting the opinions of others define us and instead let God define us, reveal His purposes, and shape our identity?

Music-on-hold is widely traced to an accident in 1962 at the factory of inventor and factory owner Alfred Levy. A loose telephone wire touched a metal girder, turning the structure into a radio receiver that fed a nearby station’s audio into the phone system. Callers placed on hold suddenly heard music instead of silence. Recognizing the potential, Levy patented a “Telephone Hold Program System” (filed March 26, 1962; patent issued 1966), formalizing the idea of supplying audio to waiting callers. by @callylogan
