Calm Shapes is about items that exude authenticity, craftsmanship, and the right shape.

And from now on, I'm sharing that collection through a new website. A place with the recognizable items and look, but now with a user-friendly way to discover them.

I feel privileged and proud, because our eldest son, Leroy, built the new website, and our son, Sil, made the film.

Our collection takes shape through the pieces I discover and seek out - often individual items that only come together once they reach our storage.

Everything converges in our studio, revealing how my eye - whether consciously or not - curates these pieces into a cohesive whole.

A perfect example is this setting featuring cognac and wood tones, where the back of the painting we found is just as intriguing as the front.

Keep your eyes open; I hope you find as much inspiration here as we do.

A set of two stately candlesticks in the Amsterdam School style from the 1930s, both stamped.

These stamps indicate when and in which part of the Netherlands they were manufactured. Our research has shown that the official 'dual maker's marks' on the candlesticks—those of Zilverfabriek Voorschoten and Metaalwarenfabriek Ter Molen (MTM)—signify the authorization to produce these specific designs and to apply the complete set of hallmarks associated with this prestigious design series.

This week’s update is about sitting down, taking your time, and appreciating your surroundings. You might do this while seated in beautiful chairs, gazing at exquisitely crafted candlesticks and letting your imagination run wild: who, over the years, has looked into this mirror with its rich patina?

I describe taking my seat in the setting I designed for this photoshoot and savoring the view before me.

Enjoy! Its all online calmshapes.com
